I recommend that clients wishing to have any form of aesthetic procedure only use a medical professional such as aesthetic pharmacists like myself, aesthetic doctors, aesthetic dentists and aesthetic nurses. You only have one face so it is prudent to take time to consider your practitioner’s skills and place your trust in someone medically qualified with training and insurance to protect your wellbeing. It is a requirement for pharmacist revalidation to perform continued professional development, the criteria of which is met by undergoing regular training sessions with certified bodies, attending workshops run by local aesthetic practitioner groups and visiting national aesthetic conferences. The aesthetic industry is constantly changing with new safety guidelines, new procedures and new products and by keeping up to date with these changes I can make sure I am in a position to offer the safest and newest treatments to my clients. My commitment to my clients is shown by always carrying out full medical consultations, taking before and after photos and only proceeding with a treatment if it is safe and in the client’s interest to do so. Sometimes marionette lines can appear after losing weight on the face.

These lines can vary in depth and length and often make you look sad at rest.

Dermal filler is a great option to soften and reduce these lines. We use it to turn up the corners of the mouth and give a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

This lovely client had marionette lines which appear as your face ages. Lines like these can cause a "sad" appearance and that didn't reflect her bubbly personality.

We created a treatment plan to address these lines and used a premium, dynamic filler to replace the lost volume in this area.

I used a topical numbing cream and then a cannula to make the treatment as comfortable as possible and reduce the chance of bruising.

The treatment takes less than an hour and the results can last up to 15 months. The client looked rejuvenated and was very happy with her results.

Marionette lines are vertical lines that appear at the corners of the mouth and extend down towards the jawline on either side of the chin.

They tend to appear in our late 30s and early 40s and occur when the skin on our face loses elastin (reduction in skin springiness), collagen (reduction in skin thickness) and fat (hollows appear). The resulting lines and downturned corners of the mouth cause you to appear sad even when your face is at rest.

Marionette lines can be treated with either (or a combination of) dermal filler, muscle relaxants, chemical peels and skin boosters.

Mild downturned corners of the mouth may respond well to muscle relaxants but deep marionette lines benefit greatly from a supportive and dynamic filler as used with this client.

She was thrilled with her results and and felt that her face now matched the fun person she was on the inside.

Some of my older clients often worry about having lip filler because they don't want to appear "done" or "fake" or like they're "trying too hard".

The truth is that hyaluronic acid filler is a great product to restore lip volume, definition and hydration and that natural results can still be achieved no matter your age.

One of the most common things I get asked is please don't make me "look done".

The truth is a 1ml syringe of filler only contains the same volume as a blueberry. It just looks more because of refraction caused by the thickness of the syringe barrel.

So the truth is, looking "done" from 1ml wouldn't always be the case. Infact it's more likely that you'll need more than 1ml especially if you're looking at areas around the face such as cheeks or nose-to-mouth lines.

During your consultation I'll be able to advise you on how much filler you would need so that we can create an appropriate treatment plan. Volume restoration for your face is a "marathon" not a sprint and great results can be achieved over time.

A lot of people think that having aesthetics treatments will leave them looking different, which isn't true.

You'll look the same, but, you'll maybe have a brow that's slightly arched, your eyes will look more open and those wrinkles, well those wrinkles will be gone. But you'll still be you.

Ultra beautiful lips with Juvederm Ultra 3 filler.
