Emergency Response Training Ltd would like to share the following update from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) & MHRA:

The public are advised to stop using certain non-sterile alcohol-free wipes after they were found contaminated with Burkholderia stabilis.

❌ Affected products:

ValueAid Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes

Microsafe Moist Wipe Alcohol Free

Steroplast Sterowipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes

Reliwipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes

👉 If you have these wipes in your home or workplace first aid kits, do not use them — dispose of them in your household waste.

👉 Only use wipes marked as “sterile” on broken skin, wounds, or where blood is visible.

⚠️ Voluntary Recall Notice – HeartSine samaritan PAD ⚠️

The HeartSine samaritan PAD is a small, lightweight Automated External Defibrillator (AED) used to treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

HeartSine Technologies has issued a voluntary recall for certain samaritan PAD models due to a manufacturing issue that may impair the device’s ability to function — or cause it to fail during use.

What to do:
• If your organisation owns a HeartSine samaritan PAD, check if your device is affected.
• Visit the HeartSine recall page and enter your AED’s serial number to confirm:

Why it matters:

☀️ Working in Hot Weather – Employer Responsibilities

With high temperatures across the UK, employers must take action to protect workers from heat-related risks.

There is no legal maximum working temperature — every workplace is different — but the law requires employers to keep conditions safe and manage risks.

Key points from HSE guidance:

- Monitor and manage workplace temperature
- Take steps to prevent heat stress
- Provide extra protection for those working outdoors
- Carry out a risk assessment using a workplace temperature - checklist

Why it matters:
Heat can cause tiredness, loss of concentration, heat exhaustion, and in severe cases, heatstroke. These risks increase for outdoor workers, those doing physical tasks, or people with certain health conditions.
