As with all studies there are caveats but some key takeaways are:

‘A straight stay in heat for 5–14 min per heat session vs. < 5 min was suggestively related to a reduced risk.’

‘The most favorable sauna temperature for dementia protection was 80–99 °C.’

‘…the dementia risk of those reporting 9–12 sauna baths per month was less than a half of the risk of those who had sauna baths only 0–4 times per month.’

The study is actually quite interesting and always worth doing your own research!

I definitely don’t have access to a sauna 2-3x pw but doing something that you enjoy when you can, that reduces stress levels can only be a good thing. And being perimenopausal I’m happy to engage in relaxing practices that can support the transition and mitigate the potential impact of changing hormones.

Let’s do more of what we enjoy!

has this incredible way of creating these all important shifts. We get so bogged down under the many layers of our being, all the labels, identities, experiences and stories. And these layers can get heavy.

Join me tonight and begin the journey of softening and integrating your layers and observe this vibrant experience.

Feeling Stuck?

When we feel stuck, or feel a sense of dis-ease, this can often go hand in hand with moments of overwhelm or heaviness.

You might feel this in the way to walk or talk, perhaps your shoulders slump or you lack the energy to engage in conversation. Perhaps your jaw feels tight, and if you paid attention, you may notice your breath is chesty and shallow. Maybe you find it hard to focus as your mind is constantly hammered with repetitive thoughts and to-do lists, but you’re stuck so you end up not doing anything and the list grows, and you berate yourself for not being a ‘doer’, for ‘not managing’, for not ever ‘being good enough’. And your body responds by gripping even tighter, by withdrawing and by breathing in a way that is dysfunctional, holding you in a state of chronic stress.

Sound familiar, or at least elements of it?

Personally I find, approaching midlife with fluctuating hormones, I regularly experience days like this. And the one thing that helps me, without fail, is breathwork. I would be LOST without it. It is my medicine, my tonic, my best friend.

Conscious Connected Breathing has an incredible way of shifting this ‘stuckness’. Of shifting this tight, restricted energy which is all-encompassing.

Who doesn’t want to experience, ‘bright spangles of light and euphoric headiness’?

I love, love, love delivering this type of breathwork ~ is a very powerful experience across many facets of the human body, from emotional to physical to physiological to spiritual.

It creates shifts in the nervous system and can release stuck energy you may be unknowingly holding onto. Sometimes emotions may rise and you have no idea why, but trust, trust in the wisdom of your body. It knows what you need to let go of.

CCB can provide deep, deep rest for your nervous system and a sense of spaciousness in a world that can often feel tight and contracted. Gift yourself an hour away from ‘life’.

I invite you to join me and see what it can offer you. No expectations, just come with curiosity and an open mind and open heart.
