Recovering from osteitis pubis… one of the things I found during this recovery is the importance of keeping your hips and pelvis loose, tight lower back causing you to use muscles that shouldn’t be under as much pressure simply because your stiff and tight in around that pelvic area… keep hammering your mobility and strengthening the lower back to help keep things free flowing during running…

Off season running back up and going again 😅 speed work today in sh*tty conditions took my clothes off afterwards and they where drenched right through ☔️☔️
Session included some high speed running to what my body allows without any pain, it was a way I done preseason last year training and conditioning the body to withstand the demands of top end speed so I’ll use that method again this season as I was on the pitch more to play rather than on the sidelines 🏃🏼💨

Off season week 4, only we aren’t running we are in the gym doing off feet conditioning due to a strain in my lower core muscles… doesn’t mean I down the tools and wait for recovery to happen, can still do things to keep on top of my fitness.
Session was 8 rounds of 50 on 10 off on assault bike ( 10-12kcals) skierg (11-13kcals) concept bike (16-19kcals) 1 minute off post concept bike and repeat for 8 rounds it was tough for sure 🥵🥵

Saturday morning session went more along the lines of using the Aqua-bag to do different movements that throws you off balance with the water swaying inside the bag, finishing off with some depth drop squats and iso metric hamstring work with eccentric loading for the calves.

Thought I learnt from the handstand video and decided to just video Cóirle do some handstand flips onto the mattress… ended up taking a clinker shot to the Crown Jewels. Cóirle enjoyed it in the end 🫠

Utilising off feet conditioning for both zone 2 aerobic training but also that more anaerobic stint pushing the heart rate to the max, helping build overall fitness without putting massive strain on the muscles joints and ligaments that we get from running… intense session that was done in 40 minutes 🥵🥵

Bulking complete only a mini bulk over 6 1/2 weeks going from 88kg to 93kg want to trim back down now to get myself leaner but holding on to some muscle mass… I’ve done out a 3 day split for myself to get me through this side of Christmas before preseason kicks off, I’ll add a more intense off feet season along with the zone 2 and running on a Sunday that I have been doing.

Off season running week 3, hitting broken broncos today so a broken bronco consists of 20meter out and back 40m out and back 60m out and back 240meter per rep, 5 reps x 3 sets… lungs spiked again towards the end of set 3 reps 3/4 and 5 but not as bad as last week, I’ll build on that when I do this again by reducing my rest time and taking my time per rep down.

Week 2 off season running, more anaerobic rather than aerobic today, 3 x 8 runs 30 on 30 off, initially target distance was 130m but ended up going from 145m to 150m for the last two sets. Foundation set for these runs now I know my distances I will aim to add more runs to the sets initially then I’ll target making longer distances down the line.
