Tarot, Tails & Tea 🐶

Yesterday we hosted our first Tarot, Tails & Tea event and, despite a few issues that we couldn’t control, it ended up being a really fun event.

We had an impromptu outdoor session, as unfortunately we couldn’t use the room we had hired (dogs safety always comes first) so we made the most of the lovely weather.

The wonderful provided us with a beautiful grounding meditation to really get us into a calm state where we could set an intention for our tarot readings.
She then gave everyone a card and a personal reading.
There were tears, smiles and lots of laughter. 🫶

Then we had drinks, homemade pastries and cookies whilst reflecting on the session. It was a lovely group of people and we were honoured to have .nature.connections join us.

The dogs had access to water, tasty treats and most importantly a shaded area.

Looking back was all about turning challenges into strengths. Changing from a sticky situation into a calm one. And a reminder that you cannot control what happens, but you can control how to deal with it.

What a wonderful Wednesday afternoon it was today visiting our friends at Sandiacre Court.
The sun was shining, the doors were open and Spring was well and truly in the air. 🌷

We spent time with residents in the beautiful courtyard and it was a really beautiful atmosphere.

We love seeing residents faces light up when they see the dogs walk in. 🫶

Sunday Catch-Up 🐶

The week started off great. On Monday 5 of our wellbeing dogs visited a local school to help year 7, 8 and 9 students who struggle to adjust to going back to school. It was a really successful session and we had amazing feedback. 🐾

On Tuesday our human helper, Charlie, had a meeting with the activities coordinator at a BUPA care facility. We cannot wait to visit in May with our wellbeing dogs. 🐶

On Wednesday, Carol & Holly visited our friends at Sandiacre Court for our weekly session. Residents on the top floor absolutely love our sessions and it’s wonderful to see their faces light up as the dogs walk in. 🫶

On Thursday we made some new friends at Douglas Court Care Home. Our first visit went do really well with residents and staff. One staff member told us she was terrified of dogs, but by the end of the session she stroked Lexi’s paw and everyone cheered. It was great to see residents smiling and reminiscing about their pets. 🐾

Paddington, our rescue chihuahua, turned 2 on Saturday. We are so glad you ended up in our lives you magical little boy. 🦊

Jinx went for a much needed trip to the groomers and now looks extra cute. 🐻

Unfortunately we have had multiple helpers struggling with sickness and had to reschedule Friday and Mondays planned sessions. We are only a small group of volunteers and unfortunately, sickness cannot be helped. We are sorry and appreciate your support and understanding. 🫶

🐾 Important Session Guidelines 🐾

To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of both our dogs and all attendees, particularly within our village hall sessions, we have introduced the following guidelines for all future bookings:
✨ No children under 8 years old
✨ Arrival within 10 minutes of the session start time is essential (late arrivals will not be admitted as rules and introductions will be missed)
✨ Please do not enter or leave the hall without permission (this helps keep our dogs safe and secure)
✨ Gentle handling only - no grabbing dogs by the face or chasing them

These boundaries are in place to create a calm, safe, and positive environment for everyone involved. Our priority is always the welfare of our animals and the emotional safety of our service users.

Back To School With Pause With Paws C.I.C 🏫

5 of our wellbeing dogs made their school debut on Monday!
Year 7, 8 and 9 students enjoyed spending time with the pooches, giving them treats and making enrichment based activities. 🐕

As someone who struggled to adjust going back to school after half-term, I understand how powerful sessions like this can be.

We are looking forward to supporting more schools in the future! 🐾

In March alone we connected with over 100 people.
We believe everyone deserves comfort, companionship, and a reason to smile.
