Pyjama Drama delivers fun, imaginative drama classes for babies, toddlers and children up to seven years. Our classes combine music, drama, movement and play and aim to develop key social skills whilst igniting the imagination! Classes are taught in preschools, nurseries and pop up public classes.

🎶 We have a song at Pyjama Drama that the children absolutely love, and honestly, so do I! This instrumental is incredibly versatile. I use it in games and imaginative play, and it helps children anticipate and recognise changes in music.

They’re not just hearing music, they’re actively noticing patterns, predicting what comes next, and responding physically and emotionally.

This week, we became pirates 🏴‍☠️ sailing through calm and stormy seas. 🌊 The children made waves with the parachute, listening carefully and reacting to the changes in the music. There were lots of giggles and so much fun, all while learning:

🎵Early pattern recognition and prediction
💭Memory and attention skills
👂🏻Focused listening
🏃‍♂️Gross motor skills, balance, and coordination
🎶Understanding of rhythm
❤️Early self-regulation
🤩Confidence in self-expression
⭐️Cooperation, turn-taking, and shared attention

This week, we’ve been on a magical adventure to the end of the rainbow and guess what we found? Magic and fairies, of course! 🌈🧚‍♀️

We’ve been exploring colour in all sorts of fun ways, with the children excitedly spotting different colours all around the room. There were also some fantastic suggestions about what the fairies might turn us into this week. As giraffes we munched crunchy leaves and as Elsa we froze everyone! 🧊

As part of our journey, the children decided we needed to cross a crocodile bridge so, we carefully tiptoed past as quietly as we could. We also had lots of practice with gentle and quiet sounds, using instruments, making the sound of rain with our fingertips, and even using our feet.

Recite: “Colours of the rainbow all around, but which rainbow colour have I found?”

Choose a colour and explore your surroundings to find it! 👀

This week, our special friend Daniel came to stay! He’s a very small, very friendly dragon, and the children were so excited to share what their own dragons looked like too.

We had lots of fun marching along with the Grand Old Duke of York, singing together and playing our instruments in time to the music. Everyone joined in beautifully!

Next, we played Daniel’s favourite parachute game, guessing which of our friends were hiding away. It was quite tricky, but there was some fantastic thinking and teamwork, well done everyone!

During “Let’s Pretend”, we woke up to discover that Daniel was missing! The Grand Old Duke of York sent us on a special mission to find him. I felt very upset, and through modelling this in our play, the children explored feelings of sadness, learning how to express their emotions with words and respond to others with kindness and empathy.

The children showed wonderful problem-solving skills, suggesting we search in caves, castles, and trees… and WE FOUND HIM!

Once we were all back together, we helped the dragons get ready for bed, brushing their teeth and getting cosy. It was especially funny when Daniel started breathing fire… lots of giggles all around! 🔥

Such a lovely week full of laughter, empathy, and problem-solving. Bravo, Rainbows 🌈

I can’t wait to hear what you have all been up to over Easter! 🐣 I’ve had a wonderful break with my family but I’m excited to see everyone and start a brand new term….✨ MAGIC & MYSTERY 💭

Next week I’ll be introducing the children to my friend Daniel the Dragon 🐉 this session also has a brilliant parachute game which I just know the children will love! I wonder where our imaginations will take us in ‘let’s pretend’… 💭

Thank you so, so much to everyone who joined me on Monday afternoons for my public class in Droitwich. It’s been an absolute joy getting to know you and your wonderful children.

Watching their confidence grow, friendships blossom, and imaginations come to life is exactly why I joined Pyjama Drama. I truly believe in the power of drama and creativity to teach children important life skills that help them grow into happy, confident, and successful individuals.

What an unforgettable afternoon! 🏴‍☠️✨

I set sail with the bravest pirate crew to celebrate Princess Pirate Maggie’s birthday, embarking on an epic adventure to find the hidden treasure chest! Through jungle trails, daring quests, and a little bit of magic we completed the mission! 🌴💎

With the legend fulfilled, we made our way to Maggie’s magical princess party, where the fun continued with pass the parcel and dancing!

Wishing the most amazing 5th birthday to fearless and fabulous Maggie! 🥳🎉

This week the children have been very excited talking about their mummies during circle time and sharing all the things that make them special. 💖

In “Let’s Pretend” Mummy’s very loud snoring scared the cat, and when we followed him outside we suddenly realised, we were locked out! 🔑

The children showed some brilliant problem solving skills, suggesting we try magic keys and even extra strong keys when the first ones broke. What fantastic thinking and teamwork!

When Mummy finally woke up, we decided it was the perfect time for a seaside trip. We built sandcastles, jumped over the waves, and finished our adventure with some delicious ice creams. 🌊🏖️🍦

Whatever your plans are this weekend, I wish all our wonderful mums and families a very happy and relaxing Mother’s Day! ❤️
