We are proud to announce that Hazem Alaliaoui has been named a Finalist for the 2026 ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards.
On 28 January 2026, while on duty as Controller at the Brunel Building in Paddington, Hazem demonstrated exceptional professionalism, vigilance, and courage during a serious incident involving an intruder attempting to steal a bicycle. Despite facing a direct threat involving a knife, Hazem acted decisively to protect building occupants and the public.
Through calm coordination, effective use of CCTV, and clear communication with colleagues and emergency responders, Hazem helped ensure the suspect was prevented from entering a busy public area and later assisted in the identification of the offender.
His actions not only safeguarded those in the building but also contributed to a wider police investigation and were formally commended by responding officers.
The awards, presented by Michelle Russell, Chief Executive of the Security Industry Authority, recognise outstanding contribution and professionalism within the security industry.
We are honoured to see Hazem recognised among this year’s finalists in such a highly competitive field.
