Today we honour pooches of all different breeds and sizes on International Dog Day!

This special day is dedicated to honouring our loyal companions and raising awareness about the importance of dog adoption and rescue.

Showing our love to all of our four-legged furry friends, here at Vigilant, we continuously support various charities and shelters to help those dogs in need, find their forever loving home!

Today we celebrate Cycle to Work Day!

Cycle to Work is the UK’s biggest celebration of everyday cycling. Promoting health, sustainability and eco-friendly travel, today offers a perfect opportunity to embrace active transport and enjoy the benefits of cycling to work!

To show our continued support in this nationally celebrated day, we joined the Cycle2Work Scheme back in November 2018, which allows all staff access to great deals on bikes and accessories to help get them on the road to discovering the benefits of getting to work on 2 wheels!

We have facilitated 101 bikes since 2018, totalling a fantastic value of £84,398! We continue to encourage our staff to take full advantage of this scheme and to join us in the celebrations of Cycle to Work Day!

Vigilant Security are thrilled to announce we have been awarded the contract for South Hampshire College Group. This win adds to our existing footprint across educational establishments including universities, colleges, and schools, where we have built considerable sector-based experience over a number of years.

South Hampshire College Group brings together three further education colleges from Eastleigh, Fareham and Southampton, helping to build a finer future for all students, apprentices, and businesses in the region.

We are looking forward to working in partnership with SHCG and to delivering a high level of security across all campuses, ensuring a safe and inspiring environment for everyone.

On Friday, some of the team visited the Dumfries Men’s Shed to present them with a cheque for £1000 to aid in supporting this fantastic local organisation, so that they can continue their important work where everyone is welcome.

We had a walk round with the Chairman, Jim Morrison, where he talked us through all the facilities they have available including a workshop, IT room, music room, gardening and arts & crafts. As well as these great activities, it is also a place where members and those interested in joining, can drop in for a coffee and a chat.

Dumfries Men’s Shed is vital in our community to provide resources to those who need it. They have a lovely bunch of members; you definitely wouldn’t be short on conversation!

If you, or someone you know would be interested in becoming a member of the Dumfries Men’s Shed, you can pay them a visit at 1-4 Cresswell Gardens, Dumfries, DG1 2HH.

They are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00-15:00.

Memberships cost £15 per year.
