It can be difficult to talk about su***de, but the words we choose matter. ๐Ÿงก

Saying someone โ€œdied by su***deโ€ instead of โ€œcommitted su***deโ€ avoids associating their death with crime, wrongdoing or sin, which can add stigma and shame.

Thoughtful language shapes understanding, builds empathy, and offers support. The words we use protect vulnerable people from harm and help shift the way we talk about su***de as a society. ๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ

โค๏ธ Happy Valentineโ€™s Day โค๏ธ

Today is all about showing appreciation, and we couldnโ€™t let it pass without giving a bit of love to our Valentine this year - Dundee West Community Trust

Carry On Kicking is a product of their generosity. From the pitch beneath our feet to the equipment we use each week, what we do simply wouldnโ€™t exist without their backing and belief in it from the very beginning.

Because of that support, men across Dundee have a place to come together, play football and look after their mental health in a safe and welcoming environment. The impact of that goes far beyond what happens during a session.

So this Valentineโ€™s Day, weโ€™re celebrating partnership, community and the people who help make it all possible.

Another great session tonight!!

3 teams - 21 lads and the biggest win of all? It stayed dry for the first time this year!!

The football was great but more importantly the atmosphere was spot on. Lads turning up for each other, checking in, having a laugh and putting a proper shift in for a full hour. That is what Carry On Kicking is about. โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Weโ€™re back tonight from 6pm at the Your Ford Centre Community Arena for another hour of football and good company.

Huge thank you to Dundee West Community Trust for their continued support and for giving us the space to make this possible each week. What we do only works because of partnerships like this.

If youโ€™re free tonight and fancy getting involved, come along and join us. โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Today we headed through to Edinburgh for a national third sector conference, bringing together charities, community groups and organisations from across Scotland to share ideas, challenges and impact.

Between the 4 of us, we were able to hear from and speak to a wide range of professionals working across the third sector, including people involved in football and community wellbeing. Hearing first hand the difference that sport and safe spaces are making in communities right across the country was powerful and motivating.

Days like this are important for us. They give us the chance to learn, reflect and build connections that will help Carry On Kicking grow in the right way. The conversations we had will shape how we develop, strengthen partnerships and continue creating a space in Dundee where mental health and football come together with real purpose.

We are excited about what comes next โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿง

We are proud to announce the launch of the new Carry On Kicking website.

This marks an important step for us as we continue with our growth. The website will be our main platform to showcase the work we do and, more importantly, support our long term vision of creating an accessible space where people can find mental health resources and support when they need it.

We are still working on adding content, but the foundations are in place and we are happy with how the website is developing.
