Hasn’t the weather been just beautiful over the last few days?! 🌞 The sun really does just lift energies and moods!

Thank you for joining me in our classes this week ☺️

At Breathe Yoga, Pilates & Wellness in Dunfermline and Fife we continued our journey into becoming our longest and strongest selves 💪🏼 and played with camatkarasana (Wild Thing) It can be seen as quite an intimidating pose, however when you learn to trust yourself, your mat and the space you’re in - scary things are achievable! We’ll be continuing this practice on Tuesday evening. 🧘🏻‍♀️

And todays pregnancy flow at Yoga's Got Hot, it threatened to be a warm one! But we all had our water bottles and breathe at the ready 🫁💦 What a joyful, strong class it was! I absolutley love flowing with all of your who come on your mat week in and week out, giving yourselves a very, VERY well deserved hour to yourself. See you next week 🪷

🌞 LONG AND STRONG🌞

In July we will be exploring back bends!
‘😨BUT IM NOT BENDY JUSTINE?!’ I hear you cry!
Don’t even worry - me neither 🤷🏻‍♀️! Back bends are all about building strength 💪🏼 and length 📏 in our bodies, and that is exactly what we are going to do together🤝

So, this month our asana practice will focus on:
🌻 Strengenthening our spinal muscles
🌻 Lengthening our side body
🌻 Opening our shoulders
🌻 Lengthening our hip flexors and abdominals
🌻 Working towards variations of Camatkarasana (Wild Thing)
🌻 And have a really nice time doing so ☺️

Last nights slow flow was a warm one!
Energy always hits different when there’s sunshine! Thanks to everyone who made it on their mat last night. Our June practice is all about going back to basics 🧘🏻‍♀️ the flow is both grounding and energising.
We’re breaking down Virabradasana 1 (warrior 1), Parsvottanasana (pyramid) and Vrikshasana (tree) with lots of beautiful flowing and breathing in between 😌

We’ll be continuing this practice next week before changing it up in July 🌻

MEET THE BREATHE TEAM

Today we introduce Justine….

Justine has always been a lover of all things active. She began a mainly physical practice of yoga in 2018. However with being in the emergency services for almost 10 years now, it didn’t take long for her practice to turn inward and helped her strengthen her mental flexibility and resilience.
Justine completed her 200hr YTT in October 2024 and most recently gained a qualification is Yoga for PTSD and C-PTSD She is passionate about bringing the practice to people who might be a little cautious, for whatever reason, to try it! Her classes are fun, supportive, non-judgemental and maybe a little challenging?! 🌝 In her spare time you can usually find her either with the love her life (as pictured🐶), reading, wandering about in Holland&Barratts or watching The Kardashians/Real Housewives of Beverlyhills.

Justine’s Gentle Flow Class has been steadily growing and I’ve received some wonderful feedback not only about her classes but how warm & welcoming she is 🩷

The word ‘flow’ can make some people apprehensive but it’s simply a term used when we connect breath and any movement.
Justine class is suitable from beginners.

✨JOY✨

You may know, I moonlight as a yoga teacher 🌝 my day job is relentless but having my own practice greatly assists me in balancing that out ⚖️
Last week I was lucky enough to facilitate 6 yoga classes and each class left me smiling 🧘🏻‍♀️🤲🏻
Yoga means ‘to unite’, ‘to join’: a community and community can mean different things to different people.
But the one thing we all have in common during each time we come on our mats together, is excatly just that - that space, that piece of time.
Whilst self practice is invaluable: moving, flowing, breathing, meditating, being still, and sharing a moment together really fills my heart with joy 🫶🏼🫢
I’m still a box fresh yoga teacher, and will forever be learning (tbh i will probs always confuse my lefts with my rights, and elbows with knees 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️) but I am so grateful to all of you that came along to any of classes with me last week 🙏🏻it’s a privalige to be able to move, breathe and be with you in each of the three breautiful spaces. I had so much fun!! 🤗🩷

And aren’t we all just so excited about it! But we aren’t QUITE there yet, so our classes in March will be about getting ready to welcome in the light. Slowly opening our chests and raising our gazes gently, creating our own light in our own versions of Natarajasana 💃🏻

Oooooh boy, have I had SUCH trepidation about this!🥵😂

I’ve been in shock for a few weeks after receiving this news and kept it very quiet in case there had been some sort of mistake!
During my YTT200hrs I chose not to take part in the Yoga Informed Therapy input as I thought it was WAAAAAY out my comfort zone…
You see, I found being told I had PTSD very difficult. It was something I couldn’t relate to, I just didn’t understand it, and I defo didn’t want it!!
But looking back right now: it’s probably one of the best things that has happened to me. (It won’t be on a day when i’m too anxious to leave my house incase ‘something bad happens’ lol🤦🏻‍♀️☯️)
But it made me take a step back and evaluate what’s important 🧑‍🧑‍🧒👨🏼‍🦲🐶👯‍♀️, it’s given me the ability to identify when someone is quietly struggling and the confidence to reach out, it lead me to and through this yoga ✌🏼journey✌🏼 that I’ve found myself on, and it’s also made me ten times funnier 🤣

I am wordlessly grateful for this opportunity, to and for selecting me and I’m really excited to start the training 🤓✍🏻
