✨ I organised my chaos and found calm & joy, to some it may seem brutal or uncaring but to me it’s given more cherished moments, I’ll share below✨
Life can be chaotic at times, in these moments it’s important to take a pause, remotely view what’s disrupting the energies and find a way to manage it to find some balance. If emotions are involved it’s even more likely to be heightened and unruly.
I used to let life rule me, take control of my time, energy and headspace and I changed my methodology.
My lovely mum was diagnosed with dementia last year, in the year leading up to the diagnosis she started to need more help with complex things like technology and managing important tasks. She 87 and doing amazing actually however, it’s still debilitating for her. As she was navigating I found it challenging to navigate her new needs and ongoing to do list. My heart went out to her but I felt it wasn’t working being an on demand support.
✨One of the best things I did was take one day per week, a Wednesday, to do the to dos.
✨She keeps a list and so do I and we manage it together weekly.
✨ By doing this I’m more relaxed and so is she, as she knows things will get done and that I have plenty time to do the things.
✨ Of course I speak with her at other times, but if it’s a thing to do that’s not immediately needing dealt with.. it goes on the list
✨Keeping her involved is key for her wellbeing - being organised is key for my wellbeing
✨Some weeks there’s no to dos and we’ll do lunch or something fun
Take a moment to think about how you can manage the biggest challenge you have at the moment, if you need to ringfence it with a process, then so be it.
