🕐 The clocks go forward this weekend! 🕑

For me, lighter evenings mean I can get out and about on an evening stroll and take in the fresh air. Making exercise part of your regular routine is at the heart of Slimming World’s Body Magic programme that me and my members explore in group.

From a quick walk around the neighbourhood 👟, to sticking on one of our video workouts 💃, getting activity into your routine alongside our fabulous Food Optimising plan really does create the magic (Body Magic!) to lose weight beautifully and stay slim for life.

🤩Recipe of the Week 🤩

There aren’t many things better than a freshly baked scone 😋
Get the bunting out, because we’ve made the afternoon tea essential fully slimming-friendly with a Food Optimising plain scone mix and two fab flavour twists!

😍Scones – 3 ways😍

🤩Ingredients 🤩

⭐️125g self-raising wholemeal flour
⭐️100g extra-fine self-raising sponge flour
⭐️1 level tsp baking powder
⭐️30g low-fat spread
⭐️1 large egg
⭐️130ml fat-free natural yogurt
⭐️Low-calorie cooking spray
⭐️2 level tsp skimmed milk, for brushing

To make herby cheese scones:

⭐️30g Parmesan, grated
⭐️1 tsp paprika
⭐️2 tsp dried mixed herbs
⭐️½ tsp smoked garlic or onion granules

To make lime and ginger scones:

⭐️Grated zest of 1 lime
⭐️2 tsp ground ginger
⭐️1 tbsp freshly grated root ginger
⭐️2 level tbsp sweetener granules (optional)

🤩Method 🤩

⭐️Preheat your oven to 190°C/fan 170°C/gas 5.

⭐️Put all of the flour, the baking powder and a pinch of salt in a bowl and mix together. Then, using your fingertips, rub the spread into the flour.

⭐️Whisk together the egg and yogurt and then stir it into the flour mixture with a knife, until it all comes together in a ball. Add a little water if necessary.

⭐️Turn the mixture out onto a floured surface and gently roll it out. Try to handle it as little as possible to keep the texture of the scones light and fluffy.

⭐️Press out 8 scones using a 6cm cookie cutter, then leave them to rest for 5 minutes (this will help them to rise).

⭐️Put the scones on a non-stick baking sheet sprayed with low-calorie cooking spray and brush with the skimmed milk. Bake the scones for 12 minutes or until golden and firm, then leave to cool.

⭐️To make herby cheese scones, just mix in the extra ingredients in step 2. This adds ½ Syn per scone.

⭐️To make lime and ginger scones, just mix in the extra ingredients in step 2. The Syns stay the same. These are delicious sliced in half and sandwiched together with some fat-free natural yogurt or plain quark and chopped or sliced fresh fruit, such as pineapple and kiwi.
