I know it's not something any pet owner wants to think about but I'd like to say choosing to let Sonny go in the comfort of his own home was the best thing we could have done.
The thought of him going to the vets, stressed, in a strange clinical environment filled me with dread.
Having worked as a vetinary nurse many moons ago I knew exactly what it was like and I didn't want that for Sonny or us.
I assume like many people I wasn't aware there were services that did come to the house when that heartbreaking decision had to made.
I found Kim and Paws At Peace - North-East through Google. I knew instantly she was the right person. Kim was so supportive, empathic and helpful from first talking to her on the phone until the end.
She explained everything so there were no shocks and made Sonny's passing as peaceful and comfortable as possible for him and us.
I'm so glad we chose to let Sonny go at home and that it was Kim who we chose.
If anyone has to make that devestating decision I just wanted to let you know it doesn't have to happen at the vets and that we can recommend Paws at Peace.
