I realised the other day I didn't know what the official Makaton Sign for Conductive Education was or what the official symbol was.
So I had a Google and couldn't find anything.
I then sent an email to The Makaton Charity asking this question.
Their response was;
There isn’t a specific Makaton Sign or Symbol for Conductive Education. In practice, people usually use existing concepts to best fit what they are describing. For example:
'To Learn' is often the most suitable option, as Conductive Education is about learning and development.
If you need to emphasise the task-based aspect, you could also use 'To Work', which is used to represent working, tasks, or jobs.
Depending on the session focus, you might also choose key words such as 'Play'.
It really depends on the level of Makaton the person is working at. At a foundation level, where key words are the focus, we’d recommend keeping it simple with 'To Learn', or 'To Do' if that feels more appropriate.
My questions are
1. What Sign do you use for Conductive Education?
2. What Symbols do you use?
3. Should we come up with a unique sign for Conductive Education?
