Diabetes Support Group – Colne Valley PCN
When: Mondays, 2-3pm, from 11th August (excluding bank holidays)
Where: Halstead Community Shed, Fenn Road , Halstead, CO9 2HG
Parking: Free parking available on site for up to 10 cars. The venue ask that we do not park in the allotment spaces or the NHS ambulance car park next door. Additional parking on Fenn Road.
Everyone is welcome to attend – no need to book, just turn up when you can.

This group offers people living with diabetes a chance to meet and share experiences with others. Meetings are facilitated by a health and wellbeing coach and currently take place weekly. Sessions focus on peer support, topic based discussions, and occasionally include guest speakers on subjects like food, stress, sleep or glucose monitoring.

SUMMER 2025 - Free Family Events In Mid Essex

Children across the country are being inspired to move more this summer, with the launch of a new animated series, Activate. The series has been co-created by fitness coach, Joe Wicks MBE, and Studio AKA, the team behind ‘Hey Duggee’, and is backed by the Department of Health & Social Care and Department for Education and Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Why this matters
Over half of children in the UK (53%) are not meeting recommended daily physical activity levels. Activate aims to address this by offering fun and accessible movement opportunities that can be easily slotted into daily routines whether at home, school, summer clubs, or on the go.

What’s included
Each Activate episode is five minutes long
Features an animated Joe Wicks and a team of original characters – the Activators
Includes music from Universal Music UK
Promotes short, fun bursts of movement for children
