Important Update: Changes to Our Triage Platform
We will be moving from our current triage supplier to Anima later this month. This change will help us manage patient care as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The new system will feel very similar to what you’ve used before, but it may ask a few additional questions. This is simply to ensure our clinical team receives the detailed information they need to support you in the best possible way.

‼️ You may be will aware of the Meningitis outbreak in Kent which has been covered in the media. ‼️
We’ve had a large number of calls from patients regarding their vaccination status, we’d like to share some points:
☑️ MenB vaccine:
✔️ Protects against group B (the strain involved in the outbreak)
✔️ Offered to babies as part of the NHS childhood immunisations programme - given at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 1 years old (since 2015)
✔️ Not routinely available for older children or adults on the NHS; only being offered to high-risk groups in targeted areas (Kent not available in Essex)
✔️ Available at a cost from private providers: pharmacies, however there is currently a national shortage and prioritising the Kent area.
☑️ MenACWY vaccine:
✔️ Protects against groups A, C, W, Y
✔️ Offered to teenagers aged 13-15 years old as part of the NHS school immunisation programme. Available here for those aged 16-25 years old if missed at school.
☑️ Currently:
✔️ Outbreak is localised.
✔️ Targeted NHS vaccination campaign underway for high-risk groups effected in outbreak area.
✔️ No changes to vaccination guidance in Essex
❌ Be aware of the symptoms, seek urgent medical help if you have any concerns. ❌
❌ View your medical records online using the NHS App for yourself and children, or for your younger children you can check their red book.

As many of you know, the ongoing road closure has made it difficult for some of our dispensing patients to reach us. We completely understand the inconvenience this has caused, and we appreciate everyone who has continued to support us during this challenging period.

However, the road closure has had a significant impact on our dispensary, and we want to ensure that we can keep this vital service running for our community.

💊 A reminder: We are able to dispense medication to patients who live more than 1 mile away from their nearest pharmacy. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please get in touch — we’re happy to help.

🙏 When the road re-opens, we would be so grateful if you could return to using our dispensary service. Your support makes a real difference, and we don’t want to lose this essential part of our practice.
