Bassetlaw Hospice provides palliative care and support for the Bassetlaw Community. It exists to enable patients with progressive life limiting diseases and their carers to achieve the best quality of life. Each year the Charity needs to raise a minimum of £250,000. We only fund raise in Bassetlaw, so every penny counts. All the donations we receive help to continue the provision of specialist pal

liative care and support we provide for patients and their families at what is always a very difficult time in their lives.

This is an idea and concept we have wanted to try for a few years now. Dying matters week 2026 seems a perfect opportunity to try with an incredibly apt theme of “let’s talk about death and dying”

We understand there will be a varied response and if this is not for you, we fully understand. Please be kind and respectful to those who will benefit from this sort of open and honest group.

The whole concept around death cafe’s is to have open and honest conversations in a friendly way. There will be advice on will writing, lasting power of attorney, memory and legacy crafts and much more. Please come along, there will still be the lovely company, drinks and cakes that fill our coffee morning each week
