Fiona and Lisa were delighted to be invited to talk today at the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation information day The Relais Cooden Beach Hotel & Spa in Cooden.

We teamed up with Ian Pickard and Paul Roskilly from ManKind to share how our support groups are here to help those affected by lung cancer but also to help with the mental health challenges that often come alongside a diagnosis.

A big thank you to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation for hosting such an important event and to everyone who joined us. It’s inspiring to see so many people committed to supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.

🌸 WomanKind – Women Supporting Women 🌸

Next Meeting: Monday 1st December

A relaxed, confidential space for women to:
• Talk honestly (if you want to)
• Listen and feel understood
• Share life’s ups, downs & everything in between
• Know you’re not on your own

No pressure. No judgement.
Just women supporting women, with plenty of warmth, kindness and a few laughs and tears along the way.

Any woman who could do with:
• A safe space to talk
• A break from holding it all together
• Struggling and in need of support

🌸 Why every woman should come along to WomanKind 🌸

WomanKind was created as the female version of ManKind - a safe, supportive space where women can talk openly about life, challenges, and mental wellbeing without judgement.

It’s not therapy, and you don’t need to have all the answers — it’s simply about connecting, listening, and realising that none of us are alone in what we face. 💬💗

Our next meeting is on Monday 3rd November, 6:15–8:30 PM at St Wilfrid's Hospice in Eastbourne and all women are welcome.

If you’ve been thinking about doing something positive for yourself — to share, to breathe, or just to be — this is your sign to come along. You’ll be met with kindness, empathy, and understanding. 🌷

Just a reminder that we are meeting tomorrow night at St Wilfrid’s Hospice from 6.15 for tea/coffee starting at 6.30 through until 8.30pm.

Unfortunately the lift is out of use so will be stairs only.

The team from ManKind and WomanKind took part in the Buxted Bonfire Society torchlight procession last night collecting money for both causes. The buckets were getting very heavy towards the end of the evening!

Thank you everyone for their support! We were rewarded with one of the best firework displays ever! 🎇🎆

Womankind need a couple more volunteers to help walk along with the procession holding charity buckets collecting money. ManKind are also doing this and will be sharing the taking with us to help women receive counselling. Thank you 💜🩷

Buxted Bonfire Society are proud to host the great Sussex tradition of bonfire right here in Buxted, just one week today!

Join us on Saturday 27th September 2025 for a spectacular torchlit procession through the village, followed by a roaring bonfire and dazzling fireworks display.

Founded by Lisa Pickard and Fiona Collins, both certified Mental Health First Aiders, WomanKind was born out of a real need for a female-focused support group—following requests from the community and encouragement from the team behind ManKind💙💚
