I started writing this early January with all the New Year resolution vibes flying around.

Itโ€™s about having trust in divine timing and in yourself, being on the right path and following your inner compass - especially when it tells you to wait and be still when your head has convinced your nervous system it needs to go go go.

But go where? What is this go? Driven by societal constructs rather than natural flow and quiet inner knowing.

I choose to draw on daily Mindfulness meditation and practices of self-care plus stillness stillness stillness.

Iโ€™m feeling a similar vibe now, with the letting go of the full moon and last weeks of the snake year-shedding those final layers ready for something new to emerge.

Life is rather chaotic at the moment but one thing I am noticing is that I am NOTICING how my mind & body are responding. Which means Iโ€™m more able to CHOOSE my next steps with care and compassion for myself. Iโ€™m more able to ACCEPT how things are and give myself space to breathe and BE WITH whatโ€™s here rather than push it away or get drawn down a rabbit hole of unhelpful thoughts. THIS is why I practice. Because it allows me the FREEDOM to choose to take care of myself and therefore much sooner return to steadiness, peace & presence ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’œ

Iโ€™ve been quiet here lately. After my last course a busy family filled summer enveloped me making memories with special people.
I allowed myself to enjoy the moments hoping the next steps for Mountain and Moon would become clear in their own sweet time.

And they will, a little trust in the process is required.

Some deeper work on myself is on the way. This self care fuels my creativity and spark.

So watch this space, for in natureโ€™s (and our own) dormancy new seeds begin to flourish ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’œ

Is a narrative unhelpful?

This morning as I watched my horses, completely present in each moment I realised sometimes a narrative dropped in. Not a thought spiral, no worries, just a little voice in my head naming what was here.

It got me to thinking about whether this was just another set of thoughts that we try to let go, to not get drawn into.

In the responsive breathing space the guidance suggests naming what is here (thinking/feeling of calmness/achy shoulders etc), so I got to wondering (thinking ๐Ÿ˜‰) if there is a differenceโ€ฆ standing/walking/tail swishing/eating/scratchingโ€ฆ

I came to a conclusion that naming these things and letting them go is one thing (albeit automatic and almost subconscious), but that it can become unhelpful when you add in the whyโ€ฆheโ€™s tail swishing because of the flies, I should have put fly spray on, shall I go up there and do it, then Iโ€™ll be late for work etc etc. โ€ฆ this is when it becomes rumination. Iโ€™ve got drawn into thoughts now rather than simply observing the moment.

Of course Iโ€™ve also got drawn into typing this as my wonderings ensued! ๐Ÿ˜‚

So Iโ€™ll go back to just watching, just for a little longer admidst the peace of the morning light ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’œ
