Quite a long post, but worth a read if you're interested in the more detailed aspects of astrology,as I am,especially having Aries as my Sun sign! 😱
Saturn ♄ in Aries♈︎
The planet Saturn ♄ moved into the Zodiac sign of Aries ♈︎, on 25.05.2025 to begin a new cycle around the Zodiac. This is Saturn’s initial transit of Aries which will last approximately 2 ½ years, during this time Saturn will turn to Retrograde motion and return to the sign of Pisces on 2.9.2025 and then begin its transit once again in Aries on 15.2.2026 until 13.4.2028. This current transit gives us a ‘taster’ of what to expect with this planetary influence.
Saturn is known as the ‘Lord of Karma’ and the great teacher of the Zodiac. Wherever Saturn is located in our Birth Chart, shows where we will have to make the biggest sacrifices, experience hardship and learn patience & resilience. Saturn represents our initial experience of Authority figures ie our parents, particularly our Father or whoever played that role in our lives. So, childhood conditioning is very much Saturn’s domain. Our unconscious mind and what continues to drive, motivate and also thwart us in our attempts to achieve our aims and objectives is highlighted. Our beliefs about who we are and what we are capable of will be under review during this transit. Whether we rise to the challenge, take risks or grab the mantle of adventure and new beginnings or collapse into depression and inertia are all part of the process with Saturn in Aries.
The sign of Aries is the first sign of the Natural Zodiac, a Fire sign and ruled by the Planet Mars. Aries is concerned with the ‘self’ (Me & I) and individual needs. Planets transiting Aries mark a fresh start and new beginnings. The planet Mars, ruling Aries has a bad reputation as the ‘God of War’ and is aggressive and driven. However, all planetary energies have positive and negative traits. If we did not have Mars in our Birth Chart, we would find it difficult to rise from our bed in the morning. Mars motivates and energises us and provides us with physical vitality. Mars energy propels us into action, to fulfil our aims & ambitions, and address our needs and concerns. Mars is also about our ‘Physical Body & Sexuality’. The negative energy of Mars can be a tendency towards bossy, argumentative & selfish behaviour, ignoring the rights of others. Many accidents, wars and natural disasters occur when Mars is adversely aspected in the heavens.
Saturn beginning its transit of ‘Mars ruled Aries’ is therefore slightly at odds with this action motivated Zodiac sign. Saturn demands that we move cautiously, attending to details, planning and laying down the foundations for the future, whilst impulsive Aries wants immediate results and will feel thwarted by Saturn’s sobering influence.
As Mars is connected to the physical body, our vitality and overall health, this maybe an area of life which will require our attention during this period of time. Fitness regimes, dieting, new hobbies or interests involving sport and the outdoor life may capture our interest. Since Aries are great at initiating projects new business opportunities may arise. There will be many personal challenges whilst Saturn transits Aries, but the outcome will depend upon the individual's ability to overcome obstacles, develop resilience and patience and come to terms with fears which quite possibly stem from early childhood.
