Hi all…. Issy here - your local Pilates instructor, strength and stretch coach and huge yogi fan.

As we all know 2025 is coming to an end, so are my 40’s and I want as many people to start 2026 stronger, fitter, more consistent and more disciplined than they ever thought possible.

You are probably aware I run mainly ladies only classes consisting of strength and Pilates here in the village, and I also run a mixed pilates class where I would love to see more men come along. There are a few men who attend and I am sure if you were to speak to them they would tell you the benefits of pilates, especially for mobility, core strength and spinal stability.

I would also like to involve as many ladies as possible, especially those of us in perimenopause, menopause or post menopause. Whether it has been surgically induced or natural it’s vital for women in this phase to double down on bone density, resistance training and general mental and physical well-being so you have a better quality of life when you get older and can reduce your risk of bone disease and muscle loss. Having said that I welcome all ladies to attend, even the younger ones to help with physical and mental development and awareness.

Please comment, like, share, ask as many questions as you like and come and give the classes a go. You never know, it maybe something you learn to love doing as we all start 2026 together.

Hi Issy here your local Pilates instructor, strength and stretch coach and yogi fan.

Not many classes left for 2025 so please come along and finish this year stronger and fitter than when you started it.
If you want to give my classes a try please message me and you can start 2026 with something different.
I have only 6 weeks left as well of being in my 40’s so I too will be finishing my 40’s off with a bang.
Classes this week as follows;

Monday ladies only strength and endurance 7.30-8.30pm

Tuesday ladies only beginners Pilates 6.15-7pm
Tues mixed ability plus Gents welcome 7.15-8.15pm

Thursday ladies only hybrid strength training and Pilates. All mixed abilities 7.30-8.30pm

All classes held at Edgworth Primary school.

Good evening all,

Tomorrow is Monday 1st December, our first class of the last month of the year. Ladies only strength endurance session where we build endurance through resistance training to increase bone health which is vital for women, especially those who are experiencing menopausal symptoms.
If you would like to come and try it please let me know. There is also a very similar class on a Thursday evening which is similar to a circuit class and we add in pilates for the 2nd half.
These classes are at edgworth primary school, and both start 7.30pm.

And finally don’t forget there are two Pilates classes on a Tuesday evening which are great to try whatever your ability, stability and mobility. Please message me if you wanna give any of the classes a go.

Mondays message to you all….

Don’t reply on motivation.

Motivation is fleeting, it’s like a bright spark. Once it dims and fades away then what is left?
This is when discipline has to come into play. It takes works to build but it’s a stronger source of fuel. And like anything it doesn’t just come your way, you have to build it, grow it and use it even when you don’t feel like doing what is good.

With this in mind I hope I see you all in class tonight, regardless of the dark nights and the cold. Staying in won’t grow your discipline, it will just keep you small and make you feel a false sense of safety. I hope this message resonates with you.

Your Monday message today is- Trying to embrace the menopause.

The menopause is a natural process in our ovulatory cycle. Think about puberty but in reverse… Navigating around it can be challenging. However did you know through extensive research one key thing which helps significantly with this process is exercise. Here is why;

Exercise has been proven to;
Reduce depression
Lower the risk of Alzheimer’s
Lower the risk of osteoporosis
Increase cardiac health
Increase mental well being and mood
Decrease the risk of falls
Decrease the risk of heart disease

The only thing it won’t do for menopause is help with hot flushes and vaginal dryness but there are good meds out there for things like this.

My message to you all is to come and give one of our classes a go. Bring a friend, sister, anyone who you think will benefit especially if this person is going through menopause.

If you’re already attending class make it your mission for the rest of 2025 to finish the year stronger, fitter and healthier.

Good evening all,
It has been a busy weekend trying to find Florence’s jacket. For those of you who aren’t aware I put a post out yesterday about my cockapoo Florence losing her coat whilst out walking. I have been searching for it high and low around Turton Tower.

You may ask what’s this got to do with classes? Well… Let me tell you…..
I have had to bend, squat, crawl under every bush and sometimes been on my hands and knees looking for this bloody coat. So silver lining here is, if it wasn’t for Pilates and Strength sessions I wouldn’t have been able to do all this bending and climbing. Moral of this story is…. If you ever lose your doggy’s jacket make sure you do Pilates and weight training… 😁

Classes this week are the following;

Monday 17th November 7.30pm-8.30pm Ladies only strength endurance

Tuesday 18th November 6.15-7pm Ladies only beginners Pilates.
7.15-8.15pm Mixed ability Pilates (men are welcome to attend)

Thursday 7.30pm-8.30pm Ladies only hybrid session of strength training and Pilates.

All classes are at Edgworth Primary School.

All are welcome with an emphasis on ladies who are either pre menopausal or post. And finally we have 5 weeks until Christmas and if you want to spend the rest of the year feeling fitter, stronger and more flexible come and give it a try and start a new routine for 2026.

Mondays message to you - Don’t negotiate with your comfort zone. “I’ll do it next time.” “I have been at work all day, I am tired”. “I’ll just do double next week”….

How you speak to yourself can be very powerful. It will impact the decisions you make, the mood you adopt and your mental and physical well-being.

My message to you - lean into the discomfort, adjust your approach. All progress and self satisfaction will come from the action you take so get yourself to class, do the work and make it your priority to create movement for your body.
