🌟 Caring Star of the Month – March 2026 🌟

Please join us in giving a huge congratulations to our incredible receptionist, Farhat! πŸŽ‰

As the first face everyone sees, Farhat sets the tone for our entire home every single day. Whether it’s greeting visitors with a warm smile, handling a busy phone line with patience, or going the extra mile to help residents and colleagues in need, Farhat embodies what "caring" truly means.

Thank you for making The Manor feel like a family. We are so lucky to have you! πŸ‘β€οΈ

🌟 Celebrating Our Caring Star of the Month: Febin! 🌟

Please join us in congratulating Febin, our Caring Star for February! Febin received nominations from both staff members and a resident's relative.

The nominations highlighted Febin's incredible patience and ability to truly understand the needs of our residents. It’s the little things that make a big difference: a gentle word, a personalized approach, and the genuine care shown every single day.

Febin, thank you for making our community a warmer and kinder place. You are so deserving of this honor! πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ

🌟Trusted by Families. Rated by Those Who Know Us Best. 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to share that Caring Homes has once again been named one of the Top 20 Care Home Groups in the UK by carehome.co.uk πŸ†

What makes this award so special? It’s based entirely on independent reviews from residents and their families. No judging panels, just real experiences from people who have trusted us with the care of someone they love.

For families searching for care, this recognition offers something truly important:
β€’ Genuine reassurance from those who’ve experienced our care first-hand
β€’ Confidence in the compassion and professionalism of our teams
β€’ Trust in safe, welcoming environments where dignity and respect come first

Choosing care is never just practical, it’s deeply personal. We’re honoured that so many families have shared their positive experiences and helped us achieve this recognition once again. πŸ’œ

Thank you to our wonderful residents, families and teams who make this possible every day.

🍽️ Supporting Residents with Dysphagia – With Skill, Care and Creativity

Last week, our Head Chefs came together for an advanced training workshop focused on supporting residents who live with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). The session was led by Andy Cullum, National Trainer for International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), giving our chefs the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge and practical skills.

So what does this mean for residents and families?

βœ”οΈ Safer dining experiences, reducing the risks associated with swallowing difficulties
βœ”οΈ Meals tailored precisely to individual texture needs using the IDDSI framework
βœ”οΈ Food that remains nutritious, recognisable and beautifully presented
βœ”οΈ Encouraging residents to eat with confidence, pleasure and dignity

From recreating full traditional meals across multiple texture levels to learning how to test consistency accurately, the workshop reinforced how creativity and consistency work hand-in-hand to deliver truly person-centred care.

Because mealtimes should always be something to enjoy πŸ’œ

It’s been a busy few days this week at the Manor

On Tuesday we had our residents design some pancakes with some of the favourite flavours. Following that we had Tony Smith perform for us with his excellent music quiz 🎹

Wednesday provided us with more entertainment with music from forget me nots organisation which the residents sang along too in great spirit 🎢
