Job reference: HI WN ED

I am looking for a reliable and compassionate, creative personal assistant to help me be more organised and motivated in order to live a more full and independent life.

I am a proactive 48 year old woman interested in self-improvement and am looking for someone open and honest to support this.

I have a mixture of physical and mental health issues I work hard to manage. (EDS, ADHD, Bipolar…). I also have a carer role for my mother with Alzheimer’s. I am high functioning and my independence is very important to me but my conditions and situation can make that a challenge at times.

The role requires 2hrs a week or 4hrs a fortnight. Afternoon would work best for me. Days and times can be flexible and discussed. There may be occasional overtime.

The ideal person will be punctual, trustworthy and optimistic with strong communication and listening skills. You will help with household organisation with light duties such as changing the bed, encourage cooking, sorting paperwork and preparing for appointments.

It is important to me the person is open to talk, share ideas and build a rapport together. This would help me to get the most out of life, manage situations and build positive routine.

I have a dog which is important to me; encouragement to walk and talk may be part of this role.

The role would suit someone positive with good organisation skills, a sense of fun and the ability to encourage me to achieve my goals

You must be a member of the PVG scheme or willing to join. Employer will cover this cost.

Rate of pay £13.45 per hour, pay rise pending.

Job Ref: NJ WN ED, Personal Assistants Required, Haymarket, Edinburgh

Are you an enthusiastic, bubbly Personal Assistant? I am a vibrant and fun-loving lady, who perhaps fails to understand that she’s too old to be doing a full-time PhD! (in an exciting period of Scottish history!)

After multiple leg and knee injuries, at present I am unable to stand for more than about five minutes, ditto am unable to walk more than distance of a few feet within my house. I am looking to fill multiple timeslots during days and early evenings each week for this at home help, enabling me to regain freedom and independence within own my home.

Lucky enough to have lived in several European capitals, I really love Italian and French cuisine. But alas, I now am unexpectedly diagnosed with diabetes type two.
So I am moving towards a vegan diet to quickly alleviate rapidly escalating blood sugar. An important aspect of the work is cooking daily meals. Any experience with vegan cooking would be an added plus.

Rate of pay is £13.45 per hour, pay rise pending.

Shift times to be negotiated. Please state in your cover letter how many shifts you wish to do and indicate your availability, by day and by time (morning, afternoon and early evening assistance is needed throughout the week).

Total hours available up to 20 hours weekly. Support hours would be mostly in the morning, plus late afternoon-early evening shifts; each shift would be about 2-2.5 hours.

Applications from people looking to work for only one slot a week are welcome!

The post is suitable for and has been particularly successful with students or those with a background in healthcare-related fields.

To apply, please send in your CV along with cover letter, setting out why you would be well suited to this position. Send these to: Eleanor.Johnson2021@gmail.com and quote reference NJ WN Ed.
