Do you feel sluggish and struggle to get going on a Monday morning?

Follow these 5 things to kickstart your week.

1. Don't deprive yourself of sleep, especially if you were out of a sleep routine on Friday + Saturday night. Be diligent, get to bed.

2. If you hit the snooze button, you set yourself up early to let things slide. Plus, less time to get ready for your day means more stress + rushing.

3. Don't reach straight for the coffee cup. Start your day by prioritising your hydration + let your body wake up before your caffeine hit.

4. Chase that vitamin D + allow your brain to realise it's time to start working. Pair this with the next tip and you are on to a winner.

5. This isn't always possible, and it doesn't have to be a full blown gym session, but get your body moving. Even a 5 minute walk outside is going to serve you well rather than going straight into work mode.

Do you find yourself binging on food and drink at the weekend?

1. Most of the time we binge because we have overly restricted in the first place. Allow yourself to be more flexible with food choices on a daily basis when and as you would like to.

2. Are you eating because you are genuinely hungry? Are you in a social setting with food or are you just bored or trying to mask a negative feeling? Make sure you are fully aware of why you are eating and if you actually want/need it.

3. When we get out of routine at the weekend, often we forget to stay hydrated Sometimes feelings of hunger can be mistaken for your bodies desire for water.

4. Taking your time allows your stomach to better digest food but it also gives your stomach + brain time to communicate. This allows you to feel full at the right time, before eating too much.

5. Don't be a child. Children have under developed brains, and are much poorer at rational decision making. Sometimes as adults, we still struggle too. If you wan't to binge on something and you don't mind, then go for it. If you know binging is going to leave you feeling ill, lethargic or further away from your goals, don't do it.

5. If everyone just ate less processed food, the world would be a much healthier place. Focus on organic, minimally processed foods for the majority of your diet.
