As a former journalist, my mind is used to juggling several things at once. I used to see it as a superpower — so I leaned into it.
When I launched my business, I ran it the same way I ran my life and my mind: constantly juggling, spinning plates, sidestepping burnout and calling it productive.
Is it any wonder, then, that I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia? A long-term condition often described as having an engine running too fast on empty.
Stillness… what was that?
Who had time to be still when there was so much to do?
When I finally reached burnout, I spent a long time feeling like I was falling behind.
Like I was missing out.
But over time, I’ve learned that wasn’t the case.
Stillness doesn’t stop things.
It makes space for you to see — and hear — more clearly.
To recognise what’s working, and what isn’t.
To give yourself permission to breathe, and rest.
Resting well has helped me make some of my best decisions.
Stillness isn’t passive.
It’s where the right movement begins.
Organic Principles - where stillness has a scent.
