Did my first memorial service yesterday in Dundee, for my dear friend Janet Hood. I say memorial, but it was really a celebration. A little bit of solemnity, but mostly we had a hoot. I left at 6 - no idea when it finished up. Interesting to try to get the balance just right.

I'm doing a ceremony for a very close friend on Friday. The cremation is private, but available on we**am. Literally hundreds of people are asking for the details. I posted them this evening, but, inexplicably, Facebook has removed the post. Has anyone else encountered this nonsense?

Was at a funeral last week, as a mourner, not on duty. The celebrant was a humanist. He talked about a time to be born and a time to die. Are you allowed to quote Ecclesiastes? I asked him afterwards. We shared a laugh. He did do a fine service.

After a very busy spell, delighted to be out and about. Various chats with Funeral Directors lined up. Good to maintain contacts.
