Across the two days you will explore six additional movements, memory and sequencing exercises, theory and practice development, guided visualisation, rhythm-based walking tasks and a full chore score combining all 13 movements. The course also includes a module on RGM training for children and an individual presentation with constructive feedback.

In the UK, billions are spent every year on autism-related support. But research shows that early, engaging interventions can improve outcomes while reducing long-term costs.

The Ronnie Gardiner Method is a low-cost, high-impact programme that uses structured rhythm and movement to support communication, motor skills and wellbeing in autistic children.

It’s inclusive, research-informed, and scalable across schools and therapy settings.

Did you know that the Ronnie Gardiner Method uses colour-coded symbols to guide rhythm and movement?

These visual cues are central to how sessions are delivered. Participants respond to colour and symbol prompts rather than relying solely on spoken instruction. This reduces the demand on verbal processing and provides a clear, consistent structure to follow.

Because the Ronnie Gardiner Method combines visual information with rhythm and coordinated movement, it can support engagement across a wide range of ages and abilities. For individuals who benefit from predictable visual structure, this multi-sensory format can make participation clearer and more accessible.

In studies exploring the link between rhythm and reading, researchers noticed some patterns in children who later found reading more challenging.

Some children had difficulty repeating a rhythm accurately. Others struggled to start a beat at the right moment, keep a steady tempo, or notice when a rhythm changed.

On their own, these things do not mean there is a problem. Children develop at different speeds and many simply need more time or practice.

However, rhythm activities can sometimes offer helpful insight into how the brain is processing sound and timing. These are important building blocks for listening, language and reading.

This is one of the reasons music and movement activities are often used in developmental approaches. They allow us to observe how different parts of the brain are working together while also supporting those systems to develop.

Parents often hear about the importance of milestones like crawling, rolling, or tummy time - but do you know why they matter so much?

Dr. Tony Ebel explains that these early movements help wire the brain for later emotional and cognitive skills. When milestones are skipped or rushed, the brain can miss vital chances to build strong connections.
Sometimes the result shows up years later as anxiety, reactivity, or difficulty focusing. Not because a child is “naughty” or “lazy” but because their brain is working under stress.

Movement-based support can give children another chance to strengthen these foundations, helping them feel calmer, more settled, and better able to learn.

Did you know that the Ronnie Gardiner Method is used internationally across health, education and community settings?

The method is delivered in neurological rehabilitation environments, in schools and learning support contexts, and in programmes focused on healthy ageing and general wellbeing. It is also used within community groups, where structured rhythm and movement provide shared participation.

The Ronnie Gardiner Method combines rhythm, coordinated movement, colour and symbol cues in a structured format. Because sessions can be adapted according to ability rather than age or diagnosis, the method is suitable for children, adults and older people. This flexibility is one of the reasons it continues to be used across such a wide range of settings.

Stroke often leaves people struggling to walk again.

Research from Mutuam Hospital in Spain (2021) found that adding music-based rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS), including the Ronnie Gardiner Method, to standard physiotherapy helped stroke patients improve their walking ability more than physiotherapy alone.

By following structured rhythms and simple movements, participants became more independent in moving from hospital to home.

This shows how rhythm can be a valuable addition to conventional rehab. If you'd like to find out more about the Ronnie Gardiner Method please head over to our website - https://www.ronniegardinermethod.co.uk
