Teach Children Meditation Campaign

Teach Children Meditation Campaign This page is dedicated to sharing good practice, useful articles, and links to our teaching program for adults and children to share meditation.

We work with all, but specialise in trauma experienced or neurodivergence. We believe that children will thrive if we teach them mindful life skills - wherever and whoever they are. We started teaching this nearly 20 years ago and our work has confirmed time and again that children and teens benefit from learning meditation. It reduces their stress and improves mental health and wellbeing. We enco

urage a heart-centered, practical approach to teaching kids - no set meditation scripts but empowering adults to trust the heart-to-heart connection and deliver mindful activities that meet children where they are at. Accomodating their needs, attention span, interests and energy. We hope you can join us - we have taught thousands of people to help their kids for personal or professional reasons (which is why we call them peace pioneers!)

Please ask a question or encourage people to find out more/learn how to teach mindful skills. We share our services but also good practice, tips/ideas and explain how meditation helps - all of us. Our aim is to inspire all! Campaign Objectives

To share best practise of meditation that can help children feel more peaceful. To encourage the use of simple methods that can help both adult and children connect in a heartfelt way. To encourage all to raise awareness of the benefits of meditation for children. To empower parents, teachers, carers and anyone who has or is working with children with knowledge and practical tips on how to relax and 'be' in each other's company. To raise awareness of how meditation can help children with SEN - particularly those have been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD/ADD. To raise awareness of how meditation can support children and their families if fostered/adopted/experienced trauma. To avoid jargon and ego statements - encouraging all to try as this is not 'rocket science' - it is as natural as breathing. To encourage regular, practical ways to meditate for adults and children. To discourage the myth that meditation is only about Oms and the lotus position. It is so much more.

Long after the moment has passed,
children carry the feeling of being listened to…
comforted…
understood.

The small moments matter more than we realise.

A calm voice.
A patient pause.
A reassuring presence.

These become part of a child’s inner world 🌱

You do not need to be perfect to make a difference.
Connection is enough.

Where does your passion take you?
If you work with children (any age from toddlers to teens), perhaps as an educator, a therapist, or yoga teacher, this is the perfect time to complement your career with the skills we teach on the Connected Kids program.

Our program is different in that we apply a method that deeply connects the energy of the heart and this brings a powerful impact for you and the young people you do/could connect with.

I've just shared something quite personal — and I think many of you will connect with it.

It's about what drives this work we do.

About a life-changing trip to Australia, a moment near Uluru that transformed a Connected Kids course from "lovely" into something genuinely profound, and my own journey through grief and healing that has shaped everything I teach.

"Teaching children meditation is essential for the well-being of humankind... The more we invest in teaching children to meditate, the more we invest in a future that values connection, empathy, and the planet."

For those of you already on this path — I hope this is a reminder of why you started. For anyone still considering it — perhaps this is your turning point.

Children don’t just learn from what we teach…
they learn from how we respond, regulate, and connect.

When educators feel supported with mindful tools,
they’re better able to create spaces where children feel:

🌿 safe
🌿 seen
🌿 calmer
🌿 more ready to learn

Because emotional wellbeing is not separate from education... it’s the foundation of it.

You Already Have What the Trauma Sector Is Missing. Here Is How to Use It.

Last night, Bulgaria's DARA won Eurovision 2026, and I genuinely could not stop thinking about what she said.

"Bangaranga is the moment that you choose to lead through love and not fear."

She spoke about the heart chakra as the source of that energy. And if you have ever guided a child through a meditation, even once, you already know exactly what she means. That quality of warm, open, grounded presence you bring to a session. The moment a child's shoulders drop. Their breathing slows. Something in them trusts. That is a heart connection. You know how to do this. You may just not realise how rare and how needed it truly is.

Because here is what I have seen from the other side.

I fostered children for ten years alongside my work with Connected Kids. Many of those children had experienced trauma. And what struck me again and again was not that they lacked professional support. Many had plenty of that. What they lacked was someone who could bring exactly the quality you bring to your meditation sessions into every interaction. That steady, loving, non-reactive presence. That ability to sit with a child without needing them to be anything other than who they are.

The professionals around them were doing their best. But the system they worked within was running on fear. Fear of mistakes. Fear of missing something. Fear of getting it wrong. And fear, however understandable, closes the heart. It creates distance. It turns presence into procedure.

For a child who has learned through painful experience that the world is not safe, that distance does not feel neutral. It confirms everything trauma has already taught them.

I eventually found that the weight was too much to carry personally. Stepping back from fostering was one of the hardest lessons of my life.
But it led somewhere important.

I have been commissioned to develop a brand new course, and this is where I think it will speak directly to you.

You already have something that most trauma professionals are never taught. You understand stillness. You understand how to regulate yourself. You understand how to hold a space with warmth and intention. You understand the heart chakra not as a concept but as a lived experience you bring to your work with children every week.

This course takes that foundation and builds on it. It introduces trauma-sensitive mindful skills so that you understand what is happening in the body and brain of a child who has experienced trauma, and how your meditation practice is already doing more good than you may realise. It then goes further, showing you how to deepen that heart connection intentionally, how to recognise when a child needs it most, and how to sustain it even when things feel difficult.

You do not need to be a therapist or a social worker to take this course. You need to be someone who works with children, who already understands the power of mindful presence, and who wants to understand more deeply why it works and how to use it with the children who need it most.

If that is you, the waiting list is now open, and I would love for you to be part of this.

Tell me in the comments, have you ever had a moment in a session where you felt something shift in a child that you could not quite explain? I have a feeling you have. That moment is exactly what this course is about.

Small mindful moments become lifelong emotional tools 🤍

A shared breath before school.
A quiet cuddle after a difficult day.
Listening to the sound of rain.
Placing a hand on the heart and simply pausing.

These moments may seem small… but for children, they become the foundation of emotional safety, self-awareness, and resilience.

Mindfulness doesn’t have to be perfect or complicated.

Often, it’s found in the gentlest everyday moments 🌱

11/05/2026

When a child is overwhelmed, their behaviour is often misunderstood.
Underneath it all is the nervous system doing its best to protect them.

Children who have experienced stress or trauma may spend more time in:
• Fight (anger, shouting, pushing back)
• Flight (avoidance, distraction, running away)
• Freeze (shutdown, silence, dissociation)

These aren’t choices.
They’re survival responses.

Why “calm” can feel unfamiliar?
For some children, calm doesn’t feel safe it feels unknown.
Their body has learned that staying alert is what keeps them protected.

So when we ask them to “just calm down,” their system may resist.

🤍 Why safety comes before tools
Before breathing techniques, meditation, or coping strategies…
a child needs to feel:
• Seen
• Safe
• Supported

Regulation grows from relationship, not instruction.

If this feels hard sometimes, remember:

✨ You’re not failing you’re learning.
