Cases of measles are on the rise. So it’s important to be aware of the signs and symptoms.

Symptoms can include cold‑like illness, sore and red eyes that may be sensitive to light, a high temperature, small grey‑white spots inside the mouth, and a rash of red‑brown spots that may be flat or slightly raised. The rash can be less obvious on brown or black skin.

If you think you or someone you live with may have measles, find out what to do at nhsinform.scot/measles.

If you are helping a loved one prepare for going to hospital, make sure they pack their medicines to take with them.

It’s important we have a complete record of what is being taken so the right medicine can be given at the right time and to help minimise waste.
