Gig Buddies with Thera Trust

Gig Buddies with Thera Trust enables people with a learning disability to get out to more events and enjoy the social life they choose.

Our current local projects are: Gig Buddies Edinburgh, West Lothian, and Glasgow. We do this by paring our members to a volunteer who shares the same interests as them. Our 'Gig Buddies' then choose which events they go to each month and enjoy their shared passion together. Gig Buddies was set up in 2013 by Stay Up Late in Brighton and has since been established in Sydney, Australia and now here in Scotland.

📢 Is your organization wanting to become knowledgeable about learning disabilities and autism, or more confident in welcoming neurodivergent audiences?
👨‍🎤 Our awareness and access session is a half-day training session, developed and delivered by people with lived experience, and can take place in person or online. And what's more, the cost of the session goes towards our delivering our Gig Buddies projects, enabling people to live active social lives.
