Tired of being sidelined by back pain? Let's talk about the 3 most common "villains" keeping you from being pain-free.

1. Lower Back Strains & Spasms 💥 These are often caused by overloading—whether it’s a single heavy lift or repetitive movements like a golf swing.

The Fix: Manage your workload using the Acute-to-Chronic Workload Ratio (ACWR). Avoid increasing your activity by more than 30–50% compared to your average over the last four weeks. Always remember the golden rule: Start Low and Build Slow (SLABS).

2. Sciatica ⚡️ That "lightning bolt" pain or numbness down the leg is often aggravated by sitting.

The Fix: Modify your habits! Sit with your hips higher than your knees by using a folded towel or cushion. Also, don't ignore your mindset—stress and anxiety are powerful triggers that can sensitize your nervous system and amplify pain signals.

3. Disc Injuries 🥯 Contrary to popular belief, discs don't "slip"—they tear (annular strains) or bulge.

The Fix: Protect your discs by mastering the Hip Hinge. Instead of bending at the spine, stabilize your back in neutral and bend only at the hips. Use a light abdominal brace by taking a "short, sharp sniff" through your nose; this naturally tightens your core and lifts your ribs to support your spine.
