2016: Thalassemia, SCD & hemophilia recognized as disabilities under the new law.

2023: PM launches National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission. Yet NFHS-6 drops anaemia/disability questions, and MWCD releases flawed definitions of hemophilia & Thalassemia in Anganwadi disability protocol.

2026: Revised RBSK 2.0 removes Thalassemia & SCD even from the optional list

“The real issue is not disability but ignorance about clinical accommodations. Flexibility is not dilution of standards; it is equalization of opportunity and a reasonable accommodation in our law which does not affect patient safety and competence. When systems refuse to adapt, they label difference as deficiency” says regarding the NHRC notice to NMC on flexible hours for postgraduate trainees.

Police act swiftly against youths for misbehaviour with Deaf friends in restaurant.

Neelambagh police took prompt action against four youths who made rude gestures toward Deaf friends signing at a restaurant. Owing to the timely police intervention, they received justice and expressed gratitude to the authorities.
