Genus Medical Fertility A new standard for reproductive care

📍 New clinic opening in Shawfair Spring-Summer 2026

28/05/2026

Edinburgh plays a very important role in the story of Genus Medical Fertility.

Born in Lithuania, Dr Karolina Skorupskaite Carlyle relocated to the UK for her studies and training, with Edinburgh becoming her home. It is where she completed her training, built her career, and where her family is based today.

This personal connection has helped shape Genus Medical Fertility. A clinic built here in Edinburgh, combining advanced reproductive science with a more human, supportive approach to care.

As we prepare to open our new purpose-built centre of excellence for reproductive care, we’re proud to be growing something so closely tied to the place it all began.

More behind the scenes coming soon. Visit genusfertility.co.uk to get in touch.

Endometriosis can affect everyone differently.

For some, it’s about managing symptoms like pain, heavy bleeding and fatigue. For others, it can raise questions about fertility and future plans.

There’s no single pathway, and that’s why a personalised approach matters.

At Genus Medical Fertility, time is taken to understand symptoms, goals, and what feels right for each individual, whether that’s symptom management, planning ahead, or exploring options like fertility preservation.

With our new clinic opening soon, we’re already supporting patients and starting these conversations now.

If you’d like to speak to someone, you can get in touch via our website. Visit genusfertility.co.uk today.

Her work focuses on supporting the emotional and psychological aspects of fertility, including assisted conception and donor pathways.

At Genus Medical Fertility, she offers a supportive, non-judgemental space to help patients navigate their journey.

We’re pleased to be attending SHREG 2026 - the Meeting of the Scottish Human Reproduction and Embryology Group, taking place in Dundee on 15 - 16 May.

Scotland’s very own fertility meeting brings together leading national and international experts in reproductive medicine and embryology for two days of discussion, learning and collaboration.

On Saturday 16th May, Dr Karolina Skorupskaite Carlyle will be speaking on the BFS Endometriosis Guideline as part of the programme.

We’re very much looking forward to being part of the event and engaging with colleagues across the field. We’ll share more from the meeting afterwards.

Meet Tessa McGurk, Operations Manager at Genus Medical Fertility.

Tessa brings over 20 years of experience from the hospitality industry, where she worked in both frontline and operational roles. In fast-paced, high-pressure environments, she developed exceptional communication and customer care skills.

These skills now play a vital role within the clinic, where creating a calm, supportive environment and ensuring a seamless patient experience are key. From managing patient flow to coordinating closely with the clinical team, Tessa helps ensure that every step of the journey runs smoothly.

Tessa previously spent five years with NHS Lothian fertility services, and it was here that she discovered a passion for fertility care and supporting people on their path to building a family. In her words: “What’s exciting about Genus Medical Fertility is that we have the ability to adapt. By listening to our patients, we can provide them with options to help them make an informed choice about what treatment is right for them.”

At Genus Medical Fertility, our All-In-One Fertility Assessment is designed to bring together consultation and testing in one streamlined visit.

Led by Dr Karolina Skorupskaite Carlyle, the appointment takes around 90 minutes and is an opportunity to understand you, your fertility journey so far, and your aims.

From there, a tailored assessment plan is created based on your individual needs, which may include a range of fertility tests and investigations.
