Reiki ~
Reiki as defined by the Oxford English dictionary is:

“A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being”. It is however, also widely accepted that Reiki healing can be given and received equally effectively hands-off or via distant healing. The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ literally translates as universal life force energy. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK since the late 1900s, but Eastern medicine has for thousands of years worked with this energy, recognising its flow through all living things. Reiki supports orthodox medicine or can be used alone but is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatments. It is not based on any belief, faith or suggestion, yet, scientific research using quantum physics is starting to help us to understand how Reiki healing may work to benefit the individual. It has been suggested that in years to come it may be known as energy medicine based on scientifically measurable energy emitted from the practitioner’s hands. What I love about Reiki is that there is no need for a lot of talking. It works by tuning in to a person's energy field energy and will go where it needs to go. Separation can be one of the most dangerous times for women experiencing domestic abuse.

Loss of control can lead to an escalation of abusive behaviours from perpetrators including stalking, threats, or legal intimidation.

Post-separation abuse is still domestic abuse – and it’s a crime in Scotland.

📣 Join Us - We are recruiting! 📣

We are delighted to announce that Glasgow Women’s Aid is launching a new family court advocacy service for women and children who have been affected by domestic abuse and are navigating the family court system.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we will have a dedicated worker for both women and their children who have been impacted by domestic abuse and are involved in civil family court processes such as court ordered contact. This new service will build on the support that we already offer to women and children.

We have the following roles available

• Women’s Family Court Advocacy Worker
• Children and Young People's Family Court Advocacy Worker

♀ We are a proudly feminist organisation, dedicated to embedding feminist values in everything we do.
