IT'S US! (well one of us at least)

Steve is one of discotia's co-founders. He's a reformed goth that's fully ready to relapse on Friday night.

He learned how to DJ by playing dubstep and ended up running a disco night for the best part of 10 years. He brings this eclectic tastes to his sets, making sure dancers are kept on their toes. Mixing the old with the new and not shying away from genre-hopping, Steve's only music policy is 'if it sounds good, play it'.

🪩 Meet your DJs: Nina Stanger 🪩

(pronounced like stranger but without the R), is a DJ, designer and artist currently based in Aberdeen. She’s hosted her own nights and radio shows throughout Scotland, and supported the likes of Red Axes, Moxie, Oneman and Richard Sen. Expect anything from underground dance oddities to classic pop. As an avid record digger, her crates are never limited to one style, time or audience.

After possibly the laziest to the year, we've finally found our bank card and managed to give the lovely people at Refuweegee some money after you lovely people helped us raise at our last party 🎉🕺

If you aren't familiar with them, Refuweegee provide a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow. They've recently celebrated their 10th birthday, and since 2015 have provided over 10,000 community-built, personal welcome packs and emergency support packs to people all over Glasgow and across Scotland.

Join us on 20 February for discotia 006. Once again we will be taking over the legendary Sneaky Pete's for a night of grooves and good times. But this time we're going goth and moody as we invite our very talented pals, Ascetic Practices and Nina Stanger to hop on the decks.

Think all things Dark Disco, Synthwave and EBM - so crack your eyeliner out 🦇

Ascetic Practices is a contemporary goth collective run by The Nightlark, Moth Girl, Sacred Keys and Philomena. Each party they throw oozes with attitude and doubles up as a release party for their exclusive fanzine.

Nina Stanger is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and DJ based in Aberdeen, famous for her eclectic sets (earning her an RA mix of the day and a Boiler Room set), and that time Michael Gove wandered into her DJing 💀

This party is in aid of LGBT Youth Scotland 💜

discotia 005 kicks off tonight from 11pm to 5am at Sneaky Pete's - final tickets are available via RA.

Our policy is good music and good vibes. Our DJs and dancers come to enjoy themselves and we pride ourselves on hosting a safe space for them to do so. We won't tolerate any antisocial behaviour.

Meet the three wise men playing tunes for you tonight at discotia 005 🎧

From around 2011, Sean went by the name of Youlap and shared stages with the likes of Bicep, Daniel Avery and Optimo. Recently he has resurrected the alias to marry his skills of mixing drinks at Panda & Sons with mixing behind the decks. He is one half of Aberdeen's legendary All Night Passion party crew.

Stephen and Stephen are two of discotia's head honchos. They're yet to find a better way of saying Stephen and Stephen. S2ephen? who knows. Either way they're both quite good DJs that know how to get your hips moving.

Featuring discotia residents Lobos UK and steef__n, and crate-digging, cocktail-shaking guru Youlap.

Expect six hours of genre-warping goodness. This party is in aid of Refuweegee, a community led charity welcoming those who have been forced to flee their homes to Scotland.

We’re still on cloud 9 after our party with ._.flo a couple of weeks back ☁️

He played a blinder of a live set to a packed out and really blew us away!

His new album Birds of Paradise came out last week so go and check that out if you haven’t already 🦚
