We’re incredibly proud to have Andy Hay as part of the Balanced team. With 12 years of physiotherapy experience across the NHS, private practice, and elite sport, Andy brings a high level of expertise and knowledge to our Colinton clinic.

As Head of Medical at Edinburgh Rugby, Andy works daily with professional athletes and a vast range of upper and lower limb injuries. He has a particular passion and specialist background in upper limb, wrist, hand, and cervical injuries, making him the go-to physio for complex cases and performance-focused rehab.

That smile says it all!

After months of hard work following an ACL injury, this young rugby player is back doing what he loves and we couldn’t be happier for him.

Working closely with Luke and using our VALD ForceDecks and Dynamo technology, he’s progressed through a full rehab programme and return-to-play assessment, building strength, confidence, and power every step of the way.

It’s great to see all that effort paying off. Enjoy being back on the pitch!

Staff CPD Session: Innovation in Knee Surgery

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Ewan Goudie, Orthopaedic Surgeon at Edinburgh Orthopaedic Specialists and Spire to our clinic for an insightful CPD session on robotic-assisted partial knee replacements.

He shared the latest advances in surgical technique, the benefits of partial over total knee replacements, and how this evolving technology is transforming patient outcomes, from faster recovery to more natural knee function.

A huge thank you to him for sharing his time and expertise. Our team is equipped with new knowledge and ready to apply it in our rehab practice!

Guess who popped by the clinic this week? None other than trailblazing international rugby referee, Hollie Davidson, who most recently took charge of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup final (Canada vs England). In September she was also presented with the World Rugby Referee of the Year Award.
