A very delayed merry Christmas and happy new year! January 2026 has been pretty busy so far!

Santa spoilt Carly-Rae and her sisters! All very lucky girls! Hope everyone had a lovely time ❤️

Second week into Jan Carly-Rae has her Hickman line removed and a port put in. She done amazing being under this time. Wasn’t the best coming round but we managed to get home the same night and had a couple days rest before finally getting back to school after not being in since November due to herself having Flu A and all the other bugs that were on the go around the school, so stayed home and safe. She also enjoyed the snow that we had plenty sledging and snowman building with her friends.

Earlier this week after 13 months she’s finally back doing her highland dancing 🩵 she has missed her teacher and all her friends. And she’s proving that while still battling cancer she can also dance and in May she’ll be doing a show with her dance school which she’s very excited about! We can’t wait to see her on stage again! Being back dancing will also be good for her mental health as it’s not been great and she’s really struggled this past couple of months.

Yesterday was meant to be her first chemo via her port but unfortunately after having it accessed 4 times her port wasn’t wanting to play ball so we are back next week to hopefully try again after some rest and her body can heal as it’s only been 2 weeks since her surgery.

She has also added to her ever growing jellycat collection 🙈

MASSIVE THANK YOU ❤️ to absolutely everyone who donated to Carly-Rae’s go fund me! She’s filled a box full of blankets (can’t get the lid closed) need another box for pillows and jellycats. She has some money left over in her go fund me to top up the box when it needs it! Extra little treats in with the jellycats. She can’t wait to take it in with her on Tuesday for all the boys and girls on her ward which unfortunately is pretty busy just now 🥺 this little comforts will mean a lot to all the warriors 🎗️Carly-Rae is 1 of 4 in moray with cancer 😔

Happy 7th birthday beautiful 🩷 a totally different birthday to last year! Last year she got her first chemo jab which wasn’t fun for anyone involved!

A year ago today I sat myself while the dr said Carly-Rae had cancer then have to make the worst phone calls to tell family and close friends 🥺What a year it has been 💔 10 days after diagnosis she went into complete kidney failure within a matter of hours and then we were on a plane to Glasgow where it was touch and go for a couple days. Then in May this year again kidney failure along with heart failure, sepsis and colitis. She spent most of her intensive rounds in hospital which became our second home, until recently we had spent more time in hospital than we had at home. Carly-Rae has kept all drs and nurses on their toes. I am so extremely proud of how she’s managed this past year and over come all her hurdles and she smiles throughout it all. Carly-Rae has her own struggles especially with the side affects from all the chemo, memory loss, brain toxicity, nerve damage, muscle loss and separation anxiety from me 🥺 I still can’t get over what’s happened within a year it’s been such a long year but also quick too. Now we are on the countdown until she finishes treatment and in 400 days she’ll be ringing that bell 🔔 cancer fu*king sucks! 2027 will be her year 🥰 🧡🎗️

Carly-Rae (me) has set up a go fund me. She’d like to raise money so she can go out and buy Blankets and teddies (more than likely jellycats🙈) for children on the ward and for children who unfortunately get diagnosed with cancer. They can come and pick out the box and make their room/bed a little more comfortable. This is something that Carly-Rae has wanted to do for a while and a week today will be a year since she’s been diagnosed.

Before being diagnosed she only had a couple of jellycats mostly bunnies now she’s a massive 51 🙈 at this point I feel I need to ban them 😅

I am so sorry I have fully neglected Carly-Rae’s page it’s been a wild few months. I will try my absolute best to keep this page updated 🙈
Last update was Carly-Rae being the brave child of the year 🥰
Since then Carly-Rae ended up very poorly and in hdu as she unfortunately went into kidney failure again then heart failure. Thankfully she pulled through and is doing lot better now. She ended going into another chemotherapy and having extra rounds. At the end of Aug she finished high doses oh chemo and in September she went into maintenance. She is also ng free as she now takes her medication and oral chemo in tablets.In August she returned to school! Which she has loved and has loved seeing and being with all her friends again and back on the class learning. Her hair is coming in thick and fast which is so strange to look at her with hair.
Shes also enjoyed a weekend with her sisters at a caravan which she absolutely loves. So next year we are hoping to do a caravan holiday or 2 🤞🏼
Every day she gets up and fights and doesn’t let it get her down.
We are getting closer to her diagnosis date which I still find insane that is almost been a year and closer to her 7th birthday which we will celebrate at home this year with her close family and friends 💖

Sorry I have totally neglected Carly’s page 🙈🙈

Little update! She’s been home 8 days! The longest ever since November!

She was short listed for brave child of the year and tonight we had the awards ceremony and she won brave child of her year 2025 🥺🥺
We are extremely proud of her and she still smiles with everything that gets thrown at her.

Sorry it’s been a few days.
Carly-Rae counts were low on Thursday while in for line care so needed a blood transfusion so we didn’t get home until very late Thursday. Friday evening unfortunately she spiked a temp and just isn’t herself at all and is still looking very white. We had a night at dr grays then ambulance this morning to Rach where they are unsure what’s wrong. Currently getting some platelets. Other counts are low so they will be re checked again hoping the rise or next round will be delayed.
