For decades, we’d built a reputation in stainless steel engineering for the dairy and water heating industries. But as the craft beer scene grew, we saw something familiar: precision, quality, and heritage. It was a perfect match.

So, we took a leap. Our engineers began designing and making stainless steel brewery vessels. What started as a few bespoke projects quickly grew into something bigger. Every weld, every polish, every detail reflected the same care that brewers pour into their craft.

Celebrating a Remarkable Milestone at Fabdec Group!

This week, we recognise an extraordinary achievement: 60 years of service by Terry Dodd, who joined Fabdec on 30th August 1965, just five years after the company was founded.

Terry’s journey with us has been nothing short of inspirational:
• Starting as a welder on ice bank tanks
• Training in refrigeration and travelling across the UK to fit systems still recognised today
• Playing a pivotal role in the introduction of Thermaplates and the THERMASTOR heat recovery product
• Leading No. 3 shop, where he oversaw the manufacture of pressure vessels including the highly successful Fabdec Megaflo – the UK’s first stainless steel unvented water heater
• Rising to Manufacturing Manager, overseeing all production before retiring from the role in 2011

Even after retirement, Terry has continued to support Fabdec with project work, product improvements, and by mentoring and upskilling our teams. His vast knowledge of welding, refrigeration, and fabrication has shaped both our products and our people.

Terry’s dedication, expertise, and generosity in sharing knowledge have left a lasting legacy at Fabdec, and many of us owe our skills to his guidance.

Please join us in congratulating Terry on this incredible milestone and thanking him for his decades of service, leadership, and commitment.
