LIGHT ON THE BANDHAS WORKSHOP

SATURDAY 26TH JULY
0930-1100
The Beeches, ISLEHAM
£20
BOOKING CONTACT: natasha@natashagoldsonyoga.com

Join me for a workshop exploring the Bandhas—the internal energy locks that awaken strength, stability, and vitality from the inside out. In this empowering session, you'll learn how to engage Mula Bandha (Root Lock), Uddiyana Bandha (Abdominal Lock), and Jalandhara Bandha (Throat Lock) with clarity and intention.

Discover the purpose and apply the technique for each Bandha in Pranayama (Breathwork) and Asanas (Poses). Finishing our practice with a subtle energy focused meditation.

This workshop is open to curious yogi(ni)s of all levels. Whether you're brand new to the Bandhas or looking to deepen your understanding, you’ll leave with tools to bring lightness, strength, and awareness into your everyday practice.

Illuminate your inner body and feel your practice transform. 🙏

The Beautiful Strawberry Moon 🍓🌕
The Strawberry Full Moon is the name traditionally given to the full moon in June by several Native American tribes, especially the Algonquin. It marked the time of year when wild strawberries were ripe for picking—a seasonal cue more than a literal reference to the moon’s colour.
Symbolic and Spiritual Significance
• Fruition and Abundance
This full moon symbolises the culmination of growth—projects, goals, or seeds planted earlier in the year may now be showing results. It’s a time to celebrate abundance, gratitude, and the rewards of consistent effort.
• Love and Fertility
Being close to the Summer Solstice, the Strawberry Moon is also associated with love, fertility, sensuality, and joy. It’s a heart-opening time for connection—both with others and with your own inner truth.
• Balance and Harmony
Occurring in early summer, it aligns with a sense of balance between light and dark, doing and being. It can be a beautiful moment for tuning into your emotions and nurturing your body and spirit.
• Astrological Influence
This particular strawberry moon falls under the sign of Sagittarius bringing adventurous, truth-seeking energy.

What happens in a chair yoga practice?

A typical chair yoga practice is a gentle form of yoga that is done while seated in a chair or using a chair for support. It's especially popular among seniors, people with limited mobility, office workers, those recovering from injury or anyone looking for a more accessible approach to yoga. The practice retains the core benefits of traditional yoga—such as improved flexibility, strength, posture, mindful movement and meditation —while removing the need to get down on the floor.

Components of a Chair Yoga Practice:

• Centering and Pranayama (breathwork): Our practice begins with a few minutes of quiet breathing and centering known as Pranayama. This helps calm the mind and bring awareness to the breath and the body.

• Warm-Up: Gentle movements like shoulder rolls, neck stretches, and wrist/ankle circles help increase circulation and prepare the body by mobilising the joints so they are ready for deeper stretching. These are typically done while seated.

• Seated Poses: Traditional poses like Warrior and chair pose are adapted to be performed while sitting.

• Standing or Supported Poses (Optional): If mobility allows, the chair may be used as a support for standing poses or they can be repeated sitting.

• Cool Down and Meditation: Our practice ends with gentle stretches and a guided meditation.

Benefits:
• Improves mobility and flexibility
• Reduces stress and promotes relaxation
• Enhances circulation and posture
• Builds strength in a safe, supportive way
• Forms confidence and develops balance
• Creates community and promotes wellbeing

Chair yoga is inclusive, adaptable, and effective for a wide range of abilities, making yoga more accessible to all.

There's still five weeks left of FREE practices. Sponsored by Healthy You East Cambs.
