The cleaning process of my tools

●Once used go into a contaminated instrument box
●They are scrubbed by hand in a warm soapy solution
●they are rinsed then go in an ultrasonic cleaning machine
●then are cold sterilised
●rinsed and dried
●Pouched with date and cycle number
●Then they go into the autoclave

The autoclave has to reach 134°, once this is achieved it does a print out to say the cycle has passed and the arrows on the pouch change colour.
The helix test strips also turn dark brown to say it passed a pressure test.

It's a lengthy process, but one of the most important parts of my job!
