According to online dictionaries: the word ‘girasol’ refers to “a type of opal that reflects light in a bright, glowing manner which resembles the brilliance of the sun” (www.definitions.net). This comes from the Spanish word ‘girar’, meaning ‘to turn’ and ‘sol’ referring to the sun.

Girasol Quartz has a high water content, so instead of being completely clear the light reflecting off the water gives this crystal a jelly-like appearance.

Like clear quartz; Girasol Quartz resonates with both the base chakra and crown chakra (although clear crystals can be used at any chakra).

Carrying or wearing Girasol Quartz throughout the day can help with staying focused and being in the present moment.

Red Jasper is a good crystal to use over a long period of time to assist with working through security and survival issues.

Carnelian can be found in varying hues of orange/red. This colour is due to trace amounts of iron compounds.

Orange crystals can be placed at the sacral chakra (two fingers’ widths beneath the navel) during a layout to help with releasing emotions and balancing, but Carnelian also resonates with the base chakra (between the legs).

Carnelian is great for placing on any area of the body that feels sluggish or swollen, as this crystal encourages motion of energies.

Carrying Carnelian in both hip pockets can help to ease stiffness and bring balance.

Placing a carnelian on both knees at the end of the day while relaxing can assist with releasing discomfort and pain. Using a pendulum over this area at the same time will amplify results.

Carnelian is safe to use to create gem water as it has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Sipping this water throughout the day may help to stimulate creativity and bring emotional balance.

Dumorturite can have an appearance similar to Sodalite, but they have a different internal structure – Sodalite is a cubic crystal, while Dumorturite has an orthorhombic structure.

Dumorturite resonates with both the brow, through its dark blue colour, and with the throat, through its crystal system.

During a crystal layout this crystal can be placed at the third eye chakra to bring focus or to help ease a headache.

Wear as a necklace at the throat to release tension, assisting with clearing blockages. This can be helpful for people who are unable to express themselves fully. Wearing Dumorturite as a bracelet may help to calm emotional imbalances.

With a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, Dumorturite is suitable to using to create gem water. Drinking this water throughout the day imparts a feeling of protection, whilst helping to release stress.
