✨️Meet Sharon ✨️ – Enabler, Creative Enabling Limited

I have worked in the care sector for the last 20-plus years. I gained my NVQ2 in health and social care and progressed to senior in my previous job. I have a genuine passion to help people and try to make a positive difference in their daily lives by providing individuals with respect, care and understanding. I have been able to transfer these skills to my current position as an enabler.

Working for Creative Enabling is a rewarding job helping people lead the lives they would like to live with care, support and dignity. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with horses and dogs. I own a crazy springer spaniel and spend a lot of my time walking on Woodbury Common or the beach. I also enjoy socialising and spending time with family and friends.

When someone feels suicidal their thoughts can become repetitive and feel completely overwhelming leaving them feeing stuck in a cycle.

If you spot someone who doesn’t look OK. Small, soft questions can be a gentle way in - they interrupt the cycle of thoughts without pressuring or overwhelming someone

Ordinary things like commenting on the weather, the time or the dog nearby, can help someone shift a little inside and engage with the world outside of their thoughts.

From there, listen, show you care, maybe help them find a quiet spot. Ask if there’s someone you can contact for them. You could also gently point them toward Samaritans or their GP.

You don’t have to have the perfect words.
You don’t have to fix anything.
You can start small.

✨️Meet Pete ✨️ – Enabler, Creative Enabling Limited

For the last four years, I’ve found so much fulfilment in supporting people as they navigate life with Prader-Willi Syndrome, brain injuries, and Autism. To me, this work is about so much more than just providing Enabling, it’s about building a real, kind connection and walking alongside someone as they find their own path.

I’m a big believer that a bit of fresh air and a good meal can do wonders for the soul. Whether we’re exploring the beauty of Dartmoor, finding peace in the Snowdonia mountains, or just whipping up something healthy and delicious in the kitchen, I love sharing my passions for fitness and cooking to help others feel their best.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my daughter or catching up with friends. I’m always happy to lend a hand, share a recipe, or just offer a bit of encouragement. My goal is simply to help the people I support lead a happy, healthy life, filled with the same things that make me smile.

I am so proud to be a member of the Creative Enabling team. Before stepping into this role, I spent nearly 20 years working in a school environment with four and five-year-olds. It was a career I truly loved. There is nothing quite like helping young children find their confidence and grow.

Now, I am enjoying this new chapter of my life. I find the work here incredibly rewarding and look forward to supporting the people we work with to live happy, fulfilling lives. When I’m not at work, I’m usually staying active by cycling around my local area or spending quality time with my family—which includes seven grandchildren and another on the way!"
