How this has changed my life is beyond wordsβ¦ if you donβt know my story, here it is π«Ά
The 20th of May changed my life.
I was a size 18, uncomfortable in my own skin, and struggling to recognise the woman staring back at me in the mirror. I dreaded having my photo taken, and hiding behind a smile became utterly exhausting.
I pushed family and friends away because I couldnβt pretend anymore.
Every day felt heavier than the last.
I lived with daily headaches, IBS, broken sleep, and zero motivation. My mental health spiralled.
I begged doctors for help, but kept being handed prescriptions for antidepressants β something I wasnβt ready to accept.
Chronic pain left me bedridden for weeks at a time. I relied on crutches to walk. My hypothyroidism medication kept increasing, and then came the diagnosis of arthritis in my spine.
I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water⦠clinging to a life ring I was slowly slipping from.
And through it all, I kept thinking about my wonderful husband, my children, and my gorgeous niece.
One day, I visited my late best friend β my sister.
I told her everything. I poured my heart out.
And right there, I made her a promise:
I will LIVE. For the both of us.
Later that same day, I saw a post from Kim & Kev about how their journeys had transformed their lives. I reached out to Kim, who helped me explain my complex PTSD to Lloyd & Jodie β and they truly listened, with kindness, patience, and support.
I wonβt lieβ¦ I thought it would just be another weight-loss gimmick.
Another Slimming World.
Another Weight Watchers.
Another disappointment.
But wow⦠I was wrong.
Within days, I started noticing changes β not just on the scales, but inside me.
I slept better.
I had more energy.
My mindset began to shift in ways I never expected.
Six months on:
No operations
No needles
No pills being pushed at me
Just good nutrition, simple plans, and incredible support.
I no longer need crutches.
My daily Thyroxine dose has been reduced.
I No longer take Codeine.
My chronic pain is manageable, with flare-ups lasting days instead of weeks.
I sleep better.
I have more energy.
My IBS symptoms have eased.
And for the first time in yearsβ¦
I love the woman looking back at me in the mirror.
Iβm now a dress size 8/10.
My CPTSD will always be part of my story β but Iβm moving forward, step by step, growing stronger every single day.
I love who I am today, inside and out.
And I am so incredibly proud of how far Iβve come.
And nowβ¦ Iβve even competed in the H24 Games.
Less than a year ago, I would never have believed I could be this healthy, this strong, or this happy.
Iβm truly loving life πͺπ«Ά
