Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This year the focus is on “changing the narrative on su***de”

Su***de claims the lives of more than 720 000 people every year. Alongside this loss the impact on those left behind ripples on, is vast and unwavering. In addition su***de is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45. So let’s all strive forward towards changing its course and offering realistic and achievable prevention. By all being more compassionate and open to offering safe spaces to talk freely about su***de. That offers protection and empathy to reduce stigma around su***de. Within this context we can create positive change. By creating environments where people feel able to speak up and seek help sooner.

ZenMINDpod invites you to be still.
Reminding you that you don’t always need to be busy and always doing things. Actually you need more stillness to thrive.

We live in a word that always pushes us forward, to be busier, to move at a faster pace, and do more. This can be true, where routine and structure can allow us to reach our goals and aspirations. But without balance or consistency we can leave ourselves open and exposed to burnout. Fatigue doesn’t come from doing too much. It comes from doing too little of what restores and keeps you well nourished.

Slowing down is vital to longevity, clarity, energy. Without rest, time to pause and reset we can feel easily overwhelmed and out of control.

Here are three simple practices to help you recharge:

• Box Breath: Inhale for 4, Hold for 2, Exhale for 4, Hold for 2.

• Cat and Cow to mobilize the spine ease into the body and release tension.

• Child’s Pose for surrender and inner stillness.

Rest is not weakness. Restful practices build great strength resilience endurance.
