If your Brain were a House
If we think of the brain as a house, all of human knowledge about it, the neuroscience, psychology, and therapy combined would probably only cover a single sheet of paper left on the kitchen table. The rest of the house… all its rooms, cupboards and hidden spaces remains largely unexplored.
This is because the mind is not just about neurons firing. It’s about experience, memory, imagination, relationships and meaning, things we can’t yet fully measure or map.
What we do know is how certain things help people:
✅ Focusing on solutions instead of problems.
✅ Shifting our attention toward what’s working.
✅ Learning how to calm the nervous system.
We don’t need to know every detail of the house to be able to live in it more comfortably. We just need to know which light switches to turn on and which doors to open.
So while much about the brain and mind is still a mystery, what matters in therapy is not explaining every corner of the house, but helping you find the rooms that make you feel safe, strong and hopeful.
If you would like help finding the light switch DM me today.
Warm regards
