Avoid / Defend / Explain but let’s not discuss the concerns parents being our way. It’s like dealing with the men I choose 🙈
and yet the comments are usually …. Home educate then!
Well to home educate means leaving a parents job. It means paying for classes. It means taking a financial strain. It means leaving familiar faces and routines. It means changing the parent / child relationship to teacher / child relationship. In some cases it doesn’t suit some children / families. Especially if the child’s main difficulties are emotional and social rather than educational. My son loves his learning for example (and his teacher) but he still has needs that can’t be met 😢
Fun fact - I also do home educate my daughter. For some children it’s necessary.
BUT parents are being forced into home education due to reasonable adaptations just not being put in place. Simple, small adjustment’s.
Funding! I know it’s non existent.
School staff we know it’s not your fault (before you come at me in the comments). But remember it’s not parents fault either and it’s still happening.
It’s not us versus you - it’s just us sharing a need that has huge consequences on a child’s life.
That’s okay.
You would if it were your child too.
