Richard Neale, Director of Operations for Forensic & Specialist Services for PHL Group was visiting West Mercia and Warwickshire this week spending time with Steven Rainbow and Sara Murphy.

The visit focused on strengthening relationships face-to-face, supporting partnership meetings, and seeing first-hand the fantastic work being delivered locally.

And yes… the PHL Group fleet car has been clocking up the miles and proudly flying the flag across the country.

Because strong partnerships start with showing up.

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and at PHL Group we’re proud to support apprenticeships across both our clinical and operational teams.

Apprenticeships play a vital role in the work place. They develop new skills which help them advance their careers, while at the same time strengthening our services by bringing fresh perspectives, enthusiasm and a idea to their teams.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing the stories of some of our colleagues who are apprentices, highlighting their experiences, what they’ve learned, and how their apprenticeships are helping them grow.

We’re proud to invest in our people and support the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Fire Warden training at Segensworth—levelled up

Today, colleagues at our Segensworth site took part in Fire Warden training using innovative VR headsets, allowing them to experience realistic, live-fire scenarios in a safe and controlled environment.

This immersive approach brings training to life, building confidence and decision-making skills while keeping safety front and centre. A great example of how we’re embracing innovation to support our people and our workplaces.

We’re proud to see Cambridge Access Surgery, run by PHL Group, featured in The Guardian as part of a new NHS pilot bringing health support into probation services.

As a CQC rated Outstanding service, Cambridge Access Surgery specialises in caring for people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, and substance misuse — groups who face significant health inequalities and poorer outcomes.

By working alongside Cambridge Probation Service, the team is helping address unmet health needs that are closely linked to reoffending, including unstable housing, poor physical and mental health, and substance dependency.

This partnership shows how accessible, compassionate healthcare can play a vital role in improving lives, reducing inequality, and supporting safer communities.
