This morning was spent volunteering under the umbrella of Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet with Tracey from Foot and Ear Healthcare by Tracey and Kate from Footworks at Booth House Swindon
A quiet session this morning with only a couple of service users treated but both were lovely and we had some great conversations and giggles with them both.

Today I participated in One Day, One Patient, One Fee to help raise money for the Charity Forgotten Feet.
One of my appointments today was selected to have the fee for that appointment donated to Forgotten Feet. I let that particular patient know that her fee for foot care today would be donated to Forgotten Feet.
If you’d like to donate to the charity to help provide free foot care to the homeless and socially vulnerable the link is below.
Thank you x

Due to very high demand I am currently working with a lead in time for home visit appointments of up to 10 weeks in many areas.
If you are a regular patient please consider booking in 2-3 appointments ahead to ensure availability and also take into consideration that should you need to cancel I may not be able to fit you in again for several weeks.
I do have much more availability at my clinic in Fairford Therapy Centre on Tuesday afternoons.

SWEP is being activated today, Friday, 24 January
With wet weather and storms on the way, the Government- backed Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) for rough sleepers is activated.
This means we will accommodate anyone who is known to rough sleep. We work with some amazing providers such as Booth House and The Haven Day Centre to offer extra provisions during adverse weathers and we will use additional accommodation if needed. Individuals will make their own decision about whether to accept an offer of shelter based on their circumstances.
Outside of SWEP being activated, we aim to make an offer of accommodation and help to anyone we find rough sleeping, though not all choose to accept this offer for various reasons including poor mental health, trauma and addiction.
Our rough sleeper average nightly figure is very low at the moment and our Rough Sleeper team are out early in the mornings offering support and advice to anyone refusing an offer of accommodation.
Rough sleepers can contact a Housing Options Officer to discuss their circumstances on 01793 445500 (available 24/7). Anyone concerned can raise an alert to us on the StreetLink website, so we can locate people in need and offer support, in the comments below.
A very busy session today treating lots of feet and making service users much more comfortable in association with Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet.

Belinda loves to help people maintain comfortable, healthy feet and nails by providing a high quality, considerate and professional home visiting service in Faringdon and the surrounding area as well as the option of a clinic based service in Fairford.
With over 15 years experience and ongoing continuing professional development you can be assured that Belinda is bringing you the highest quality and experience available.
Belinda’s “Gold Standard” service includes the highest quality of hygiene including full vacuum sterilisation of instruments which means that all instruments, used on each individual patient, are individually pouched prior to sterilisation and then “in pouch” autoclave sterilised so that every set of instruments used is in a 100% sterile state when opened in front of you at each treatment. This standard is over and above the minimum requirements for Foot Health Practitioners and not all Practitioners operate at this level of instrument hygiene.
