The kind of physical changes women over 40 years go through can be alarming and this is as a result of shift in the female hormones.
During perimenopause, estrogen drops… and with it goes your skin’s natural moisture, elasticity, and glow. Suddenly, your usual creams stop working, and your skin starts feeling tight, flaky, or even itchy.
This is where Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) becomes your skin’s quiet rescue.
Rich in antioxidants and healthy fats, EVOO helps to:
• Lock in moisture and repair your skin barrier
• Soothe irritation and reduce dryness
• Support collagen and improve skin elasticity
• Give that soft, natural glow without harsh chemicals

At Clearview Hospital, we see this all the time…Less estrogen = less moisture, less glow.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman in my community💞💞💞

Today, I want to celebrate not just mothers, but every woman carrying love in her heart in one form or another.

To the women who are trying to conceive, the ones praying quietly, hoping deeply, showing up month after month with faith and courage, I see you. Your journey matters. Your pain is valid. Your hope is sacred. And you are held in so much love today.

To the women in the waiting room, in the middle of tests, treatments, questions, disappointments, and fragile hope, please know this, you are not forgotten. You are not less than. You are not alone. This day may feel heavy, and that is okay. Be gentle with yourself.

To our expectant mothers, carrying life, carrying change, carrying both joy and uncertainty, may this season remind you of your strength, your softness, and the miracle unfolding within you.

To the new mothers, navigating sleepless nights, healing bodies, shifting emotions, and the overwhelming beauty of new life, you are doing better than you think. Even on the hard days, even on the tired days, you are enough.

And to every mother, biological, spiritual, adoptive, waiting, grieving, nurturing, and becoming, I honour you today.

Motherhood is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like sacrifice. Sometimes it looks like longing. Sometimes it looks like resilience. Sometimes it looks like love that has not yet found words.

So today, from my heart to yours, I celebrate your strength, your journey, your tenderness, and your courage.

May you feel seen.
May you feel comforted.
May you feel deeply loved.

Happy Mother’s Day with all my love.🤗🤗💃🏼💃🏼🥰🥰🥰🫶🏼

Sleep is one of the most underrated pillars of health.

While you sleep, your body repairs tissues, balances hormones, strengthens immunity, and resets your brain.

Yet many people sacrifice sleep because of busy schedules, late-night screens, or poor routines.

But poor sleep can affect almost every system in the body, including the heart, brain, metabolism, and emotional wellbeing.

On this World Sleep Day, remember:

Sleep is not laziness.
Sleep is not a luxury.

Sleep is essential for living well.

Protect your sleep like you protect your health.

Because the truth is simple:
Sleep well, live well.

Good day my community people!!

Today's topic is on SLEEP!! As adults, normalise sleeping for 7 - 9hrs. This is not negotiable.

Remove that false narrative that less sleep is equal to being hardworking.

Sleep is very important for your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

If you are not sure about how much sleep you get, get a sleep diary and record the following?

1. What time you go to bed?

2. What time you actually go to sleep once you get on your bed.

3. How long you sleep for? You can count in minutes, hrs.

4. How many times is your sleep interrupted?

On the 13th of March, we get to celebrate World Sleep Day💃💃💃

So let me know, how many hours do you sleep in a day? Let me judge...👇

Happy New Month my community people...💃💃💃

Movement is medicine… even in pregnancy. 🤰🏽

At our antenatal session today, we combined safe exercise with practical health education.

Evidence shows that appropriate exercise in pregnancy can:

• Reduce back and pelvic pain
• Lower the risk of diabetes in pregnancy
• Improve mood and reduce anxiety
• Support healthy weight gain
• Improve sleep
• Prepare the body for labour and recovery

Pregnancy is not a disease. With the right guidance, movement is safe, powerful and beneficial for both mother and baby.

Always speak to your healthcare provider before starting or modifying exercise during pregnancy.

Good morning my Community Health Conscious people.

Now that we are in the fasting period ( Lent and Ramadan), let's be mindful of how we break the fast and wheat food you choose to break with.

What you need to be mindful of is that the body is a little sensitive after hours of no food: your blood sugar is more reactive, stomach feels 'tight'. Rushing to eat a bowl of party Jollof rice especially in 2 minutes can lead to acute tummy pain, bloating, acid reflux, sleepiness or drowsiness, or a sugar crash.

Break your fast to achieve:
1. Good rehydration
2. Loosen up your tummy gently
3. Slowly and gently stabilise your blood sugar ( protein + fibre)
4. Avoid any food that will cause your sugar level to spike which can cause you to feel severe discomfort.

Use this as a guide to make healthier choices:
1. Water first always
2. Small portion of fruits like a handful of any berries or grapes, 1 large or medium ripe banana, an apple (red or green), even dates. These fruits are a source of natural sugars, so won't overwhelm your system.
3. Any protein like boiled/scrambled eggs, beans, lentils, moi-moi, fish, chicken, Greek yoghurt with berries
4. Foods high in fibre like oats, brown rice, salads, whole grain cereals, veggies
5. Any kind of light soup especially if you have a sensitive tummy like chicken, turkey or fish pepper soup.

N.B If you have diabetes, reflux/gastritis, pregnancy, or any eating disorder, you need a personalised plan.

What's your go-to food to break your fast?

5. Your mental health
6. Avoid if you can substances like ci******es and co, alcohol.
