Medical Staff Training provides training/courses for HCAs, and refresher courses for HCAs, Nurses, and Healthcare support workers staff at General Practices. Some of our courses include HCA foundation training, Phlebotomy Course, Adults Injections, Asthma, Diabetes, Wound Management, etc.
Courses are delivered by the clinical team with proven experience. All our courses are delivered by GP's and Nurse Practitioner with mentorship qualification.

HCA Foundation Training
The aim of HCA Foundation Training is to provide both the knowledge and skills needed to work as HCA at General Practice. The main topics covered are the role of a Healthcare Assistant, Personal skills, Clinical and Physical examination skills using RCN guidance, Care Certificate develops by HEE, and competence (if students are employed by the GP practice we expect them to be supported by the practice).
Locations: various
Study method - Classroom and online, for competence sign off - GP Practice
Duration - 2 days face to face (if class size is less than 5, otherwise due to Covid19, we are running classes via Zoom) and 54 hours online. For competence sign off 8 weeks ( please note this may vary if students are employed by the practice, availability of the mentor)
Qualification - Certificate of completion, care certificate, and competence sign off. Students must complete all components in order to successfully complete the course and be awarded their certificate.

During the practice initially, students use mannequins and then practice under the strict supervision of a Nurse Practitioner with fellow students.
We will support and guide the students to have immunisations required for the role (if not employed by the Practice).
Once the student completes the competencies, we prepare their folder required for the organisations (GPs as per the CQC requirements).

Requirements: Have a good standard of written English. The initial set of documents to be available for work experience or training or be employed by the Practice.
