If you feel absolutely drained during your period, there’s a reason.
Your body’s doing a lot, and losing blood means losing iron, which your cells need to carry oxygen. Low iron = fatigue and potential dizziness.

Your hormones (oestrogen + progesterone) are also at their lowest right now, which means slower recovery, lower mood, and weaker stress resilience.

Here’s how to support your body through your period:

🥩 Iron-rich foods – think lentils, eggs, spinach, turkey, and pumpkin seeds. Pair these with vitamin C (like berries or citrus) to boost absorption.

🍳 Protein with every meal – supports energy, stabilises mood, and helps repair tissue.

🥣 Balance your blood sugar – eat regularly, include healthy fats and fibre to avoid spikes and crashes that make fatigue worse.

🚶‍♀️ Gentle movement – walking, stretching, yoga. Exercise helps circulation, but rest is just as healing right now.

When you work with your cycle instead of pushing through it, everything feels easier. 🌙

If you’re constantly tired, catching every cold, and feeling like you’re running on fumes, that’s your body whispering, “I need a reset.”

Food, rest, and rhythm make a huge difference.

I help women rebuild their resilience through nutrition that supports both their immune system and their stress response.

When anxiety strikes, your breath is one of the most effective tools you have, and it’s completely free!

Slow, intentional breathing activates the vagus nerve, signalling safety to your brain and helping your body move out of a stress response.
This shift lowers cortisol, steadies your heart rate, and can calm racing thoughts in just a few minutes.

Next time you feel anxious, try breathing out for slightly longer than you breathe in. This simple technique tells your body it’s safe to leave “fight or flight” and return to a state of calm and balance.

It’s a small practice with a powerful impact; one that strengthens your nervous system and helps you respond to life from a grounded place rather than a reactive one. 🌿

If you’d like to learn more about how to calm anxiety through nutrition, lifestyle, and nervous system support, book a free discovery call to chat about my Flourish Programme, designed to help women rebalance hormones, ease stress, and feel like themselves again 🌿

Why PMS can affect your mood, and what you can do about it...

If you find yourself feeling more anxious, teary, or irritable before your period, there’s a clear scientific explanation.

In the luteal phase (the two weeks before your period), levels of progesterone rise. This hormone is designed to have a calming, grounding effect because it supports GABA, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate the brain’s stress response.

However, when prolonged stress, poor sleep, or nutrient deficiencies interfere, both progesterone and GABA can drop. That’s when many women experience PMS symptoms such as mood swings, impatience, sugar cravings, and the feeling that their body is working against them.

The good news? You can support this balance naturally through food and lifestyle choices.

Adequate protein intake, magnesium, B vitamins, and stable blood sugar are all key to helping hormones function optimally, leading to calmer moods, steadier energy, and fewer PMS symptoms over time.

You don’t have to simply “get through” your cycle each month. When you understand your body and nourish it properly, you can move through each phase feeling balanced and supported.

If this resonates, I’d love to invite you to book a free discovery call to explore how my Flourish programme can help.
It’s designed to support women in rebalancing hormones, calming the nervous system, and feeling more like themselves again.
I'll leave the booking link in the comments 😊🌿

If there’s one supplement I consistently recommend, it’s magnesium.

Stress, poor sleep, sugar cravings, muscle tension, anxiety, PMS? Magnesium is involved in all of it.

It’s one of the most common deficiencies I see in women, and it plays a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the body, including those that calm your nervous system and support hormonal balance.

Think of it as your body’s natural chill pill 💆‍♀️

💊 Best forms: Glycinate (for relaxation and sleep) and Citrate (for muscle tension and digestion). These are the most bioavailable forms, meaning your body absorbs and uses them effectively.

🥦 Best food sources: leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and dark chocolate. It should be noted, though, that even with a great diet, it can be hard to meet your needs. Modern farming practices deplete magnesium in soil, and stress causes your body to burn through it faster.

✨ Sometimes, it’s the simple foundations that make the biggest difference.

🌿 Did you know histamine could be affecting your anxiety? 🌿

While most people associate histamine with allergies, it’s actually a neurotransmitter that plays a much bigger role in our mental health. 😲 From racing thoughts to brain fog, histamine buildup can trigger anxiety-like symptoms—especially during allergy season.

In my latest blog post, I’m diving into:
✅ The surprising link between histamine and anxiety
✅ How pollen, stress, and food contribute to symptoms
✅ Natural ways to manage histamine levels for better mental clarity

Want to learn how histamine could be impacting your mood, energy, and overall well-being? Click the link to read more! 📖👇

Let me know in the comments—have you noticed a connection between allergies, food, and your anxiety? 💬

Have you ever felt anxious, restless, or mentally foggy for no apparent reason—especially during allergy season? While stress and lifestyle factors play a role, histamine may be an overlooked culprit. Most people associate histamine with allergies—sneezing, itchy eyes, or hay fever—but its eff...

A Day of Deep Rest & Renewal 🌿❄️

I was too zenned out to hop onto my socials when I got home yesterday, but I had the loveliest day. I went to my first-ever retreat! A full day of nurturing myself in the best ways—mind, body, and soul. 💛

From mindful breathwork and a soft introduction to the Wim Hof technique to plunging into the ice pods and then unwinding in a bubbling hot tub with No-secco in hand, chatting with some incredible women—it was pure self-care bliss.

✨ Why do this? ✨
❄️ Cold water immersion reduces inflammation, boosts circulation, and triggers a flood of mood-boosting neurotransmitters (hello, dopamine & serotonin!).
🌬️ Breathwork (especially techniques like Wim Hof) helps calm the nervous system, lowers stress, and improves focus.
🌿 Spending time outside without responsibilities? It’s a nervous system reset. Nature + relaxation = the best therapy.

And a little spoiler… this was also a great opportunity to chat about the wellness retreats I want to run next year! Wild Minds Wellness and I are already working on some exciting plans—watch this space! 👀💫

This was truly a day to remember.

Huge thanks to Kay Lou for your generosity and for hosting such a beautiful event—it was perfect. 💛

✨ A personal post, but one that means a lot. ✨

Yesterday was an emotional one—it marked the end of my cohort with She Can Shine, the female entrepreneur and business owner program that has been a huge part of my journey over the past year.

Through this experience, I’ve gained so much—confidence, connections, and a deeper belief in what I do. I’ve had the chance to talk about my work, learn from inspiring women, and form exciting collaborations. The support, encouragement, and shared ambition in this space have been incredible.

I’ve met amazing friends and connected with wonderful peers in the wellness, holistic, and health space. While today was bittersweet, I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities, the encouragement, and the belief in my business and what I have to offer.

Here’s to the next chapter! 💫

✨ International Women’s Day: Celebrating Strength, Raising Awareness ✨

Today, I’m celebrating International Women’s Day by shining a light on something that often goes unnoticed: how anxiety presents in women and why it’s so often overlooked.

Women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, yet many struggle in silence. Why? Because anxiety in women doesn’t always look the way people expect.

🔥 It’s not just panic attacks—it’s perfectionism, people-pleasing, and over-explaining.
🔥 It’s not just nervousness—it’s exhaustion, stomach issues, chronic tension, and feeling “too sensitive.”
🔥 It’s not always obvious because women are often conditioned to be agreeable, keep it together, and push through.

We are taught to manage, not to struggle. To be “strong,” not overwhelmed. But true strength isn’t about pretending everything is fine—it’s about acknowledging when it’s not.

So today, let’s not only celebrate the achievements of women but also create space for honesty, understanding, and support. If you see yourself in this, know that your feelings are valid. Your struggles matter. And you deserve the same care and compassion you so often give to others. 💜

(And the photos? Just some of my favourite ladies in my life —though not all, since some hate photos as much as I do! 😅... PS. Sorry guys 😬❤️)
