Did you know that when you call 999 the first vehicle to get to you may not be an Ambulance, Community First Responders often arrive before the ambulance to look after you until the ambulance crew arrive.
We are volunteers and are fully trained to offer medical assistance and Basic Life Support if needed, by the East of England Ambulance Service and we drive normal cars with no blue lights.
The Felixstowe Community First Responders will be on call over the Christmas period looking after the local community.

Calling all Felixstowe companies and businesses...

Are your staff prepared to deal with a serious medical incident like a cardiac arrest at your location or at home, would you like the Felixstowe Community First Responders to come to your premises and teach your staff life saving skills.

We are offering to come to your premises and teach the staff (up to 10 at a time ) CPR and Defibrillator awareness, as well as ways to deal with other life threatening issues.

The course will be approx 2 hours long and we just need a room with a TV or way of presenting the information as well as a bit of open space for the people to practice CPR.
The cost to your business is zero as we are offering our time and knowledge for free, you just need to give your staff a few hours off.

Please message us if you are interested in this training.

For businesses that don't have the option to host us, we are looking to get a hall soon and have bookable sessions for your staff, and we will post on here with that information once it's set up.

A heart felt thanks goes to the all the darts players who helped raise this money.

This week is National Volunteers week.

As your local Community First Responders, we thought we would let you know what we have been up to this year.

We have been tasked to and attended 134 calls, for the East Of England Ambulance Service 🚑
93 of these calls were Category 2 calls (Medical Emergencies)
41 of these calls were Category 1 calls (Life Threatening Emergencies)
We were First on Scene for 90 of these calls

The types of calls we have attended have included the following (Top 5 types of Incidents)
Breathing Problems
Falls
Cardiac Arrests
Convulsions/Fittings
Chest Pain

All these calls have been in Felixstowe and the surrounding villages, all done by volunteers who give their time freely, and use their own vehicles to attend these jobs.

Volunteer community first responders are a vital part of our service, responding to emergencies in their local area and in many instances, arriving first on scene to provide life-saving support until ambulance crews arrive.

Let’s have a look at some stats about our CFRs and CFR groups across the east of England 👇
